If there's only a few hundred bucks difference between a '15 and '16, I would go for the '16. Better resale and you get SYNC 3. Don't care about those things? Talk 'em down on the '15. Almost nobody knows the difference between 6th gen year models going down the road so it still looks "new".

I dont see the big deal. It actually helps us owners' values if they're still selling that high new.

And per above someone paid $32k for a premium auto with 6k miles previously titled (used). So $35k brand new with 20s and the enhanced security is far from a stretch to ask for it. Im sure you could get it at $33,500-34.

I cant say much for the GT but i bought my 15 ecoboost manual with roush stage 1 package in may 2016. I didnt originally go to the dealer to see that car i actually had intentions of having them locate and deliver one from across the country. i saw the leftover roush sitting on the lot and i looked at the salesman and said "I dont think this one fits my budget, but youre welcome to work a number on this one". he looked at me and said "I am going to sell you this mustang!"

Sticker (with roush package) $43,900 plus tax and fees
I ended up paying $36,400 plus tax. I was below invoice of the mustang, and below the invoice of the roush package. The roush package msrp with all options was an extra $9000 msrp. He showed me the invoice of both the car and the roush package. All in all i ended up about $500 under their cost of the car. minus a $500 rebate. I think i did alright. Anyway point being if a dealer isnt going to sell you a car thats 3 years old and considered used at this point, for a used price, then move on.

Just FYI the dealership still makes money selling it at invoice or even under sometimes. There is hold-back and Ford pays them per car they sell too.

Ford pays them back the rebate (its a manufacturer rebate) so that's a wash for the dealership.

Good deal still $500 under invoice though.

My bad. Wasn't paying attention when I was typing. $500 under holdback*. I used to work as a ford salesman

KBB, NADA and Edmunds all show 35k being a good price for that car. If you can get it cheaper, fine. But the dealer is pretty much on the money with this one.

New to the forum ( been a while since my 70/302 and 85 t-top Gt ).

Went looking and WANTED a 15 new ( hey first production year with Irs across the board)
I also wanted AT, 3.55, premium ( wife likes ac seats), backup camera, and guard color

Found one at a local dealership that I have purchased 6 cars from in as many years ( wife x3 son X1 me x2).

After some minimal, haggling ( 2017's are about to hit your lot, and you are still sitting on 6 2015's ). Agreed price was 32,734 ( plus ttl) for a car that stickered 40,400.

Love the ride, and will, keep it at least 2 years.

Stick to your guns, they can come down a bit , or,sit on the car. The only party that loses by you walking away is them, you are one buyer with hundreds of options, they are competing with tens of dealers in most areas

Didn't have the problem of,looking too young for a test drive lol.

Still has significant diminished value. The second he drives it off the lot it's instantly a 3 year old, used car (with ultra low miles). No one gives a crap about the in-service date except for warranty.
He has 6 15's sitting there with the 17's hitting the floor & there is nothing particularly special about any of them. I'd pass unless they deep discounted it. Why buy his old (been sitting since 03/20/15), acid rain etched, been baking in the FL sun 24/7 crap when you can a new one for a few $100 more ! Bet the paint is swirled to hell as well from the lot jockies swabbing it with dirty rags 2 or 3x a week.
^^All this right here, discussion closed, end of thread.
