Hey guys! New around here currently driving a 2015 GT.
My question for you all is whenever the temps get above 100 here (Austin) I will every now and again get a low oil pressure light on the center screen at idle (track only). As soon as i rev the motor or begin driving it goes away so the light has never stayed on for more than a second. Currently running Motorcraft 5w20 like I was told to do but I think I want to step up the oil weight a bit.. any suggestions? thanks in advance fellas

I assume you checked the oil level and it is ok? I never had those issues in the warm Atlanta weather when I was running 5w-20.

Please check your oil level asap. What's your oil pressure gauge reading?
If your oil level is OK, take to dealer asap!
Oil weight is not causing this. Nor is temp. You have either a faultly sending unit or enterenal engine problem. Get it checked!

9 seems awfully low IMO. When I ran 5w-20 I was at 20-21. Now that I run 0W-40, I am at 30.

It's not heat.
These motors are designed to run 5/20.
I'm in FL, 100*F, run 5/20 and warm at idle 20-25 psi.

are you the guy on facebook that posted videos from inside the car drifting? i posted a comment in there saying that oil pressure seems a bit low.

the lowest ive seen mine at idle is 20 psi. i remember in the video you were at 40 psi at redline.

edit: video for reference

Any engine should generally have at least 20 PSI at idle hot, or 10 PSI per 1000 RPM.

Anything less is going to be a problem.....
