Hey guys im new to the mustang community but i recently purchased a 2015 ecoboost 6speed manual only has 55k miles , this weekend i decided to test out the 0-60 recording feature on the vehicle and it was making it in 8.3 sec everytime i tried it , ive driven manual for years now so the shifting is ruled out. Any ideas guys what could be going on any tune ups maybe? Took it to ford btw since it was still under manfac. Warranty they said they found nothing wrong with it.

Guess what you have the worst possible combo for a 0-60 run, its ok me too. Let me explain, with the mt-82 and 3.55 gears that come on the PP you cant hit 60 without shifting to 3rd and that absolutely screw any chance of hitting the factory advertised 0-60. That being said 8.3 is still low, stock i was putting down 6.0-6.4 sec hit a 5.9 once, now with FBO and my E30 tune itll do 4.9-5.3 regularly. I would start with a tune up, get 1 step colder plugs in there asap, check the air filter, tire pressure and then give it another run.

But the 3.55 gears are always gonna make 0-60 runs tough on a M/T PP car.

Have you confirmed your time by using a stop watch. There could be an issue with the onboard timer. My old 15' EB auto with 51K was around 6.1-6.2

Let's assume the 8.3 sec to 60mph is legit. I'd check for boost leaks. Are all intake elbows properly connected? Can you check boost pressure? If so, how does it compare to stock boost ratings?

I installed these plugs and did a couple 0-60 runs now check engine popped out saying overboost , any idea what it could be ? Car is stock
Is your car aftermarket tuned or is it still running the factory tune? What does your boost gauge read at WOT? Also, like said above, check for boost leaks.

I believe the 2015 ecoboosts had a more aggressive tune from the factory than the 2016 and 2017 models.

I'm no expert at all but this is how I approached my Audi (4cyl turbo) based upon advice I was given. First, If you're buying used cars you should have a code scanner. They're not expensive. Scan it for codes. Next, look at swapping out the coil packs along with colder plugs. Then of course put in better oil if needed (good synthetic) and better breathing air filter (only need a cheaper hi-flow reusable). Check around the grill and the inlet for obstructions. Look at your hoses (charge pipes?) coming in and going out from your turbo to see if they're damaged. I don't anything about the ecoboosts but I assume the principal is the same. You need good free flowing cold air. I would also look at Liqui Moly (they know their shit with boosted engines) oil cleaners. Usually you wouldn't need this if you've used good synthetic oil and changed it regularly but you never now how the person before you treated it. Then once you're got everything in place and know everything is running well get a good tune.

Your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer with the CEL on and have them chase it. Last time my previous ecoboost had a overboost CEL it was the turbo...

Guys your asking the OP to chase his tail. We do not even know if his 0-60 time was right since he was using the on board computer. All of the advise given is solid, especially about boost leaks. That said having a guy change plugs without knowing anything about his car is going to lead him down a dark hole. The overboost light is prove of that. IMHO he should put the original plugs back in, check for the light, and bring the car in to be checked. Hopefully he did a full maintenance on the car before doing WOT 0-60 blasts. If not, I'm afraid this post is going to get a lot longer.

Well when you tell the op to put the OEM plugs back in, which have been proven to contribute to LSPI on these engines, then yes this thread will get longer.

OP don't put your OEM plugs back in please, check the 6510's and make sure they are gapped correctly and the tip isn't damaged.
