Mine doesn't light up any more. Did some research but not finding much information. Recall one fix was to update the computer or something.
What's the chances the 3rd brake light is bad versus the wiring to it not working.

If it was the wiring wouldn't my back up camera, remote trunk release also not work?

Any links to vids or step by step instructions on how to replace this light?

Light in question:

Check the trunk harness from the trunk lid that goes into the trunk cavity.

That harness is known to have failures within the wiring loom. If you don’t see visible exterior signs of problems, open the loom and check for damaged, chafed or broken wires.

thanks, I couldn't find much on the brake light issue itself, but a lot of instances of the back up camera not working due to the same loom.

I have an extended warranty about to expire, and do an intermittent backup camera issue, maybe once every 3 months, thinking could bring it in for that at least

Correct. The backup light, the Sirius antenna, the rear trunk latch and the rear backup cam all have wires in the same wiring loom.

If you do have an extended warranty definitely take it in and let them repair it under the warranty provisions. This way if it acts up again you’re covered.

had the opportunity to check out a few 2020 convertibles in the showroom after picking up the car. The harness is laid out differently, longer, a more gentle bend then the way the one on my '15 was done
