No. That's from the wrecking company moving it with a skid steer. Look at pic of front end. Nothing was bent. Bumper was straight. It sits on its belly. Shocks are gone, so they can't move it without help.

Here's a close up of front end prior to skid steer. Nothing is bent. I stopped in soft soil. There was no damage other than fire. As I said. I was on fire when I went IN the ditch. I had taken it in for service just 3 days prior with check engine light on. Ford couldn't determine why, and said it was safe to drive. Drove 40 miles home, then parked it. Drove it on Sunday, putting 40 miles on it, and it caught fire while driving it. From what I've heard so far, is there's an issue with the fuel lines leaking due to rapid deterioration from their placement causing a hot/cold rapid deterioration of the line. Can't confirm until powers at be analyze it. I CAN verify that it was no fault of my own. That's all I do know. No other vehicles involved, and witnesses gave the facts.

Dealership called to blame it on the fuel line. Ford hasn't said anything.

If his lawyers prove this was a Ford quality control issue, he will be
paid in full, hence the reason he is not commenting

Why who isn't commenting? My situation just happened a week ago on sunday. They haven't even had the fire specialist look at it yet.

Jeep also...

Wow that’s heart breaking. My cousin had a very similar thing happen to him, Ford actually replaced his engine under warranty and didn’t connect/tighten up the fuel lines properly on the way home went up in flames car was totalled he was very lucky it didn’t explode. You should really go off at the dealership. FREE Loan car while waiting for a new Mustang.
My Jeep was recalled for a gas tank problem. The shop only finger tightened the fuel line. One block from the shop, the line separated and started to dump gas on the ground. The engine stopped and I stalled in the middle of a double four lane intersection. Luckily the shop sent out a truck and pulled me the one block back...and connected the fuel line. At least, the dealer didn't charge me for refilling the tank.

Geeez how many miles did you have on your car? Does anyone know how many miles were on the original post as well?

Mine was just over 21k. 80 miles since service with check engine light on for pmc code and a few others.

Solo, I assume the blower was put on by the Dealer as well? Something tells me that Ford is going to push all responsibility to the dealer being that they did the work and car not factory stock (regardless if that was the cause or not).

Good to hear that you are alive to be here and share the story, and wish you the best in your recovery.

Thank you. I am lucky to be alive. All mods were installed by a Ford certified tech, and under full warranty. It was a Rough supercharger kit, which ford accepts accepts a Ford certified accessory. This will be an interesting adventure to see what the end will bring. I'm just made that they told me it was safe to drive at service, and 80 miles later it is on fire while driving it without any warning.

They wont be able to determine a cause of the fire from whats left. If an investigator does give them a cause he made it up.
