Hey everyone so I have spent the better part of a year going through every forum possible for changing seats from the different generations of the S550 mustang.

So after my change from stock leather powered seats in my 2015 to Cloth 2019 my SRS light came and stayed on. I came to the conclusion from all the information on the internet that the airbags are different and so is the wiring for the seats.

Well that's WRONG. The only airbag that matters is the passenger side airbag that is under where you sit. For some reason when Ford changed to the gen 3 models they changed the resistance of said Airbag. By installing the correct model year version of that airbag your light will go off and all will be well. Good luck everyone.

I share your frustration. I got spare 2018 seats from a junkyard for my 2022 Mach 1 to harvest the wiring and passenger seat bladder for use in a pair of Corbeau racing seats. I used 2.2 Ohm resistors to mimic the seat airbags and I placed the seat rail position sensors against metal to simulate the seats in a rearward position (which they are.) The overhead "passenger air bag Off" indicator always remains illuminated and so does the instrument cluster air bag light. It sure would be nice knowing if the SRS is functioning properly when using the 3-point belts on the street.

If you harvested the airbags and hooked them all up it should work no problem. Do you have the original seat belt connector hooked up as well because that is part of the srs system

Unfortunately, no airbags were included with the junkyard seats. If I can't figure out a way to fool the SRS to activate the frontal air bags with the Corbeau seats, I'll probably reinstall the OEM seats for street use and swap in the Corbeau seats for track duty with the 6-point harness. And yes, when the 3-point buckles are latched with the cobbled wiring harness, the red seatbelt light turns off but the air bag lights remain illuminated.

Well if you don't mind the light all airbags will work properly. The light is on because the bladder with weight sensor and other airbags are missing but the system itself works off independent sensors that function regardless

This is not necessarily fact. If the SRS lamp on the dash is lit, it not only indicates a problem in the system, it may also indicate the system is turned off because of one or more detected faults. or missing components. Today's SRS is very complicated and when deployment is triggered by the impact sensors (front/side/roof), different components fire off before others, and some components deploy with or without others. I would not trust it.

For background info, I have been in the collision repair industry for nearly 30 years.
