My right headlight just got hit by a rock and is now cracked. However, the headlight and LED bars still work fine.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement lens or even complete plastic assembly? Ford only sells the entire headlight assembly for $1,350. I almost passed out!!!

I can't believe that this could possibly be the only option out there. It's just a plastic assembly for God's sake!!!

Thanks,
TJK

It's a car and it's a mustang
Comprehensive auto insurance covers damage caused by incidents other than a car accident, including theft, fire, vandalism, weather, falling objects and animal damage. It isn't required by law, but it may be a good idea depending on the value of the car you're driving.

I had to Google it. My first time owning a new car with full-insurance.

You have comprehensive insurance don't you?
Depending on his deductible he'll still have to pay for $1,000 of that $1,350.

Exactly. UAmach1

I'm looking for a headlight assembly.

Not insurance advice.

Thanks

Since the lens is sealed on from the factory, I doubt Ford sells it separately. Your best bet would probably be to hit up a salvage yard and hope you find one that was rear ended, or T-boned or something.

But what Ford sells has all of the electronics included. I only need the plastic assembly.

And so far, I haven't had any luck at the salvage yards. Most of the Late model Mustangs end up on auction at Copart and don't end up in the local yards.

I wasn't trying to give insurance "advice". So many people really don't even know what their insurance covers, I just thought I'd throw that out there. My comprehensive deductible is $250. Obviously yours may be higher or you might not even carry that type of coverage.

Try hitting up some racers....those with dedicated race cars may not need their lights. (I've only ever done day time races in mine, but I know my lights don't work, flood damage car). Not sure what race car shops are near you....

Do you want to sell yours? Again, I'm only looking for the plastic assembly.

Try to search for this part at ebay or amazon or just web deeper. I had an issue with my bmw taillight and was able to find ones sold by companies that were actual oem suppliers, but the price was about 1/5 of oem part sold by bmw.

Had no issues with that taillight.

There's a 2" hole. So not very aerodynamic. But I could throw in some tinted covers. They're relatively cheap.
