Re race car

Funny, how do you define " race car for a little while"?
Does it have to start a race but not finish?
Or just look and sound like one?
Lindsey in her video is rather misleading to the dealers, by the way when she's talking about the base what is the car doing in the back ground? Driving on a track? Must be an optical illusion or just a figment of our imagination!

I like to disassemble things.
I wish I would have figured that. I wouldn't have upgraded the nav/stereo anyway if I had bought a track pack car. I mostly wanted seats I would fit in comfortably during my daily commute. Now with hindsight I see that seats would have been much easier to swap out than finding a way to get coolers. And when I was at the Track Attack the seats really didn't seem uncomfortable at all.

I thought that since Ford recommended coolers be added to the tech and base cars that it would have been simple, inexpensive, not void my warranty. I figured I'd buy the car, try it at the track and then buy the coolers if I decided I needed them. I'm still trying to do that. I think it will happen.
Regarding the nav/stereo, everyone likes to say that they don't care how lousy it is because they usually turn it off and listen to the exhaust anyway. Well it matters to me. I tried using my phone as a substitute for the 8" screen/navigation on a 14 hr drive to Georgia. What a pain in the ass that was. That alone was a great motivator to follow through on the audio upgrade.

The Recaros fit me well (I'm 6' and 215lbs and I like horses and long walks in the park:D) and are are great for reasonable length stints behind the wheel. They are a great track seat. But after about 6 hours into a lengthy drive they morph into a torture device.

And that's a good point regarding Ford's recommendation regarding adding coolers. It did sort of imply that their addition was reasonably feasible.

Re customer service

Our customer service rep, who is supposed to be a manager, closes our file with out resolution. Then won't return calls or e-mails.
His response to the transmission cooler was " we have great news, you can replace the transmission for 4800, but he neglected to add you needed the cooler. Case closed
Differential cooler: no solution, case closed

Recall: verified, parts not available. Case closed.

Oh yes dealers mechanic said by the way there is no bulletin for this but don't pull the drivers wiper blade arm up to clean better, it hits and scratches the hood. Customer service rep says cause there is no bulletin on this then you don't know what your talking about and it doesn't exist. I will tell my paint and body guy that next time he has to retouch it cause the detailer forgets and it's happened twice!

Has any one found the skematics for the two PCMs, 2017 and ours? To see the differences?

Re mechanically stupid

No, we are great if your body parts need fixing, but not cars. We rely on folks that know better, we were told that both the transmission (dah) and rear end overheat, he said that if you cool only the transmission and don't have the protection of limp mode you will burn out the rear end cause it's temp isn't monitored and can and will become excessive. Fact or fiction?
He said the differential fluid looked bad, suggesting high heat and degradation of the fluid. Again Fact or fiction?
He recommended not continuing to run at high speeds.
We understand that, the parallel is cool the body and not the brain, the brain cooks, cool the brain and not the body the muscles breakdown and their go your kidneys. Cool them both and life is good.

Yea me too. Lol. I bought this car with the plan of leaving it completely stock. This would be a first for me. I debated on which Pack I wanted. I really wanted an R but cost and availability kept me away. I didn't order mine and just kind of decided to get one. I had heard all about them and how awesome they were for months. I wasn't really in the market for a car, it was actually really bad timing for me. I've got so much going on I've hardly driven it and have nowhere to put it at home because if all my projects. I was told it was only a 2 year run (15s not included as they were so hard to get) so after doing some research and asking around at a few dealers, I bought my car. Now I've said this before and maybe I'm just stupid but, I was told the Tech car was an upgraded version of the Track Pack (I know of a few others that were told the same thing). To me this meant the Tech was the same as the Track Pack but has better electronics. I was told that by two dealers and never saw anything that said to add coolers until after I bought the car. Even then the coolers are only recommended for someone who wants to track their car. I never really planned to an figured if I did it would be once or twice at best. I figured I'd be fine. Never imagined that they meant if you plan to drive it on a track, at all, not to mention I've hit limp mode with spirited street driving..... I really find it laughable that my car has Magnaride and a "Track" selection in the driving modes when it was NEVER intended by Ford to see a track.

With all of this said I will fix the issue myself, Track Pack trans and coolers, and a cooler and pump for the diff, but it should have come with them or even had a cost effective way to add them without voiding the warranty(which is the least of my worries). I really couldn't care less about the radio and don't t plan to drive the car on any long trips and would have chosen a Track Pack if I had known then what I know now. I know, I know, just sell it.... Sure and lose at least 15 grand because the car won't out perform a 35k GT. Yea, I know, you can't compare the two because the 350 makes allot more power and really pushes its components allot haarrr....... wait a minute so obviously this would be an issue???!!!!! I am a Ford guy and bleed Ford Blue, I still love my 350. I'm just disappointed that Ford let these cars leave like this when a couple of grand (which I would have paid w/o question) would have avoided all of this.

Here is a short list of why I feel these cars were slightly misrepresented......
1)The advertising really didn't exclude the Base or Tech cars from being track worthy.
2)In the add that says that a Track Pack has engine oil, trans, and diff coolers it never says that the Tech or Base don't. Before you say why should it, they have the engine oil coolers and there is no mention of that either.
3)The add listing the features starts with Base, then Track, then Tech, then R, then R with electronics.... would seem to me they get better as they go, not lose options.
4)They have a "Track" setting in the driving mode selection.
5)Dealers were misinformed (at best) or flat out lied about what the options of the cars were intended to mean.
6)The cars hit limp mode on the street
7(17s have the coolers on all cars.... wonder why if it's not an issue

The cars were misrepresented. I had an award in my favour for this exact reason.

That being said, arguing on a forum with a whole group of car enthusiasts is completely pointless. No real purpose in trying to change each others minds or convince one side of the coin to see the other side. As we can see over 159 pages (just in this thread) it is truly impossible.

Who you need to convince are those that can do something about it. In this case, it would be the 'courts' or whomever oversees these things in your Countries and/or States.

Most logical, law based, minds will see this very clearly. I walked my personal scenario through a number of law minded individuals before I went through with my case. It was a cake walk.

What we have on this forum (a majority of anyways) are everyday run of the mill car enthusiasts from Postal Workers to Mechanics to Entrepreneurs to Union/Factory workers. I am sure somewhere in this membership we might find a lawyer or three, but, the majority are not, and the majority have probably never seen the inside of a court room or perhaps not even have ever had a discussion with a lawyer.

(For example, the only relevant marketing materials when arguing are the ones that came out before the 2015/16 GT350s were on the road. Eg. The Press Releases). Anything, including the owners supplement that you didn't have access to until after you owned the car isn't relevant.

Aannnddd...done.

This thread is like world history it repeats it self lol.
Haha. Sure does man. I left it for a long time. Jumped back in this weekend. It literally hasn't changed at all.

Sometimes it's nice to know that some things never change!

I've read a lot of statements such as that on here as well. I don't fit into that group.

Prior to the GT350 I owned a base 2015 GT, so I knew exactly what the track pack stereo was like. It's not that I only listen to the exhaust; for me it's more about the cabin being noisy anyway, so I don't really care to spend the money to have an excellent stereo. I also am just not as picky about the stereo as many others are.

I didn't know what I was missing with nav, either. I've never had a car with it.

I also took the 2015 GT to the track - and had a great time. No problems with heat. I did have lower expectations in the GT, and I didn't pass as many people, either. It was a very fun car at the track, though. :)

I have 2 RB racing gear pumps. Super quiet. With the engine off you have to open the door to hear it.
Do they turn off with the ignition if you for get or do they keep running
