Sorry, I should be more clear. Those are the times it takes to go into limp mode with my '16 Tech Pack car. Stock. No mods.

I'm hoping to get through a 30min session with the Cooler Scoop without limp mode. Will test it at next track event in Feb.

Bad news, if the Cooler Scoop works, is that I'll be able to complete 30min track sessions. That means my tires and brakes are going to wear at faster. Stock tires have done pretty well holding up to short, 10-15min track sessions.:headbonk:

I'm with you. let me get threw 3 30 min sessions in a day and im happy. hopefully I see you at PBIR in Feb

If it can do 3 30 min sessions on an average summer day... then I'll be in.

Your questions are valid. Some people (as above) want an OE look. Others just want the car to work. I think it's a waste of time and money, to swap the entire transmission when there much easier, less expensive solutions that work just as well. I'm still searching for the exact car/price I want. I will either be buying a track pack '16 and upgrading the electronics inside, a tech pack '16 and adding an external cooler, or getting a 17 with both tech/track (yes, I know track pack goodies are included).

While I want the car to look good and to work well, I won't be attending any shows where someone is inspecting the originality of my trans pump. I'll be doing laps around a track smiling and waving as I fly by. :)
No car shows for me either for the most part, possibly a cruise in here or there. I just like the idea of the OEM pump run off of the trans. I've built plenty of cars with add on electric pumps for transmission cooling as well as diff cooling and heat exchanger cooling. Just not what I want for this car. Maybe a waste of time and money in your opinion. Not in mine.

I'm not sure if I missed it, but did anyone order the kit from FP? (with the external pump)

There is no kit from FP with an external pump. The kit is a complement to the trans with the internal pump. If you do an external pump solution you can use some of the components from the FP kit but it will probably be cheaper for you buy the individual components from one of the Ford parts vendors that has good prices. AutoNation White Bear Lake and Levittown for instance.

Thanks Steve16. I should have been clearer. I was wondering if anyone has purchased ford performance kit # (m-7095-m8s) plus an aftermarket external pump.

please share your findings. All i want is 25mins on track.

if the scoop can deliver the results, I won't even bother with a tranny oil cooler setup.

Just ordered the new Transmission Cooler Scoop from Shelby. Of course, it is on backorder because they've sold out. Anyway, they tell me it should ship next week.

My next track day is at PBIR here in FL on Feb. 16. I will be able to tell immediately if it has any impact. The car has been VERY consistent in going into limp mode. Session 1; 14-15min. Session 2; 12-14min. Session 3; 9-11min.

The guy at Shelby said that they felt it 'resolved' the problem.....as in, it didn't go into limp mode with the new scoop. Not sure it is that good, but we will see.

My need is to get through 20-30 min sessions in the summer. So, it doesn't have to improve by much to meet my needs.

could you please also enable the tranny temp reading follow the FORSCAN thread while you are on track, that way you can share the actual temps with the scoop at the end of the session.

thanks, really looking forward to it, first track day is booked for end of April

Well, Finally finished up my trans cooler. It's temporary until I pull the trigget on a track pack trans. I used as much of the factory parts as I could, unmodified, to facilitate re-using them when i switch to the trans. I installed the switch in an easy to replace interior panel. I'm using the rbracing medium pump. I used a wiring kit from superbrightleds.com I made a bracket out of thick aluminum for the pump and used pre-existing holes in the body to mount it.

I'm pleased with the outcome.

I made sure that my leg comes no where near where the switch is in the driving position. I'll mount the switch for the differential cooler right next to it.

To secure the 8AN lines to the factory radiator part, I used gates heat activated compression clamps, then used hose clamps over top of them as a safety measure. I put heat shield on the lines where they come close to the motor and headers/exhaust.

I'm going to leave the trans scoop for now, but will most likely remove it so that i can reinstall my gtrac brace.

Dont mind the orange masking tape. Thats me ensuring that the double sided tape for the californa pony cars splash guards sets properly. The JLT rock blockers werent catching everything.

the pump should catch adequate airflow from the vents in the fender liner and the vacuum effect that the fender vents create.

That's great work. Did you keep the windshield washer fluid container in this design? :)

Yep. Everything is fully functional. The fender liner hides everything and keeps the fluid lines in place. Being that it is after of the front wheels, the placement of the pump also puts any catastrophic fluid leaks behind the front wheels, so I can at least steer while the car implodes. :)

The extra line length also nets me an additional quart of fluid capacity. (Which is a good thing)

one thing to note:

with the car running (kooks headers, green cats, factory catback) idling in normal mode, you cannot hear this pump. it is rated for constant duty. it is brass helical gears, and flows 2.3 gpm.
