So tell me again how my tech car was not built for the track, it's got this button on the steering wheel that I can flip through to a setting that clearly says "TRACK". So how would Ford say I'm the idiot for expecting the car to perform without going into limp mode...... on the TRACK????
I think this is very valid and perhaps a good legal case? My tech car shouldn't show TRACK as an option or if TRACK is selected, it should ask if you have installed Transmission and Rear Diff coolers. But it doesn't so Ford is at fault here in my opinion. Is is embarrassing a 2016 Mustang GT can do track days and we can't? The fact 2017 GT350's come with the extra coolers is the point, not the new increased Retail Price.

Perhaps Ford thought the base and tech cars could do 20 minute sessions without issue and that is why the TRACK option is in our cars but? Could it be argued the Track package GT350 means it can go on the track all day without issue?

We had two goals lately. One was to have as many members as possible call Ford Performance on a specific day and let them know our feelings on the limp mode issue. Where does this stand? Second was to start posting on Ford Social. Where does this stand. We have to keep on track with these two goals. We have to be organized or will not be able to get our thoughts to any of the higher-ups at Ford. I know if we were all in one room together we could talk and make a lot of progress. It is much harder on a forum.
Its funny, I recommended a social media blitz on this issue as far back as February/March when it was discovered we had a totally different transmission. The trolls were thick, I knew this shit would happen. The time to hit them was this spring, to directly counter their BS marketing and dealer bullshit. This car is already yesterdays news. Ford is getting ready to plug the next SVT launch. We will get nothing.

Nothing short of a cleverly positioned class action threat will make them take any action.

Just my opinion.

This is an interesting argument that had not occurred to me.

I think that there were glaring decisions that were made for GT350s based on cost, that Ford had no idea would impact the customer base this negatively.

I'm really starting to doubt that Ford was ever prepared to actually service and maintain these vehicles on top of the glaring cost cutting measures that they took.

As for me... my story.

My transmission cracked down the casting on the tail shaft housing.

I had my car towed to my dealer on August 1st.

I still do not have my car back. They were replacing just the tail shaft housing.

First, it took them a week to diagnose. Then it took 2 weeks to get the parts.

once they got the parts, then they didn't have some specialty tool. They were supposed to have the tool a week ago.

Haven't heard a peep since.

Furthermore, my car was damaged during transport. Ford will not agree to pay for the damage to my kooks mid-pipes, nor will agree to fix the dent until after I can get an estimate for the repairs.. guess what? can't get an estimate since the car has been on a freaking lift for a month and obviously cannot move. Any Body/repair shop that I'd use is 20+ miles away from the dealer and will not make the trip out to write an estimate for $2500.

My Father in law worked for ford for 53 years. He was an engineer on both the US spec and Australian Falcons ( which the original mustang used lots of parts from).

He's probably spinning in his grave right now.

I have a fair amount of money above and beyond the cost of the car into mine right now. I'm thinking that, if i eventually get the car back, I'm selling it. I've had enough.

( For reference, I was not even offered a rental/loaner vehicle by anyone, dealership or Ford Corporate.)

I've spent less on cars and been treated much much better. Yes, Ford, if you are reading, you've chased away a Z plan customer that has bought 3 Ford vehicles in the last 12 months. Not even the discount that I get for being part of a Ford family can entice me to buy another vehicle.

Shame on you. Shame on Ford performance. Shame on Dave. You've taken a great brand and socked it right in the face, giving it two black eyes and brain damage.

I challenge ANYONE from Ford to make this right. And yes, I also sent a certified letter to Billy. That fell on deaf ears too.

It is hard to express how disappointed in Ford I am. I've owned 19... yes.. 19 Ford vehicles. I currently own 3. Guess what? I'm seriously considering dumping all 3 of my personal Ford vehicles and switching to some other brand for the work vehicles that I buy.

The sheer lack of customer first mentality is what is most disappointing. If the company that I work for ( and yes, I'm part of the Sr. leadership team), did business like this, we would not exist.

again.. honest disappointment in Ford. what a letdown.

As a business, how you behave when everything is 100% as expected is always easy.

How a business reacts during failure conditions and when expectations are missed is how the quality of the business and leadership are judged. Ford, I'm giving you the chance to prove me wrong, but so far, you are making my trust in your brand very painful.
I can tell you first hand, Ford expects perfection from their vendors, and from that perspective they are a bunch of penny pinching hypocrites.

I think the point about getting counsel is the fastest way to resolution. If ford got hit with a class action lawsuit, they would have to act one way or another. Right now as far as they are concerned it's a few vocal owners on forums. Not going to get any action

How many people are willing to engage in a class action lawsuit versus trying to do a social media blitz I think is the real question?

Also with your email, link all limp mode threads. Keep us posted.
I would also consider to include that if Ford isn't willing to resolve the matter with owners on their own accord that we will be forced to take legal action as a group.

Sorry to hear of your issues.
I bought a GT in 2013 with a manual trans. After 1000 miles and 30 days, the trans broke. Ford didn't offer a loaner and their customer service sucked. I traded the car in on a Grand Cherokee two weeks after getting it back. The trans was rebuilt by the servicing dealer and it didn't shift very well and had more NVH than it should have.
I'm a sucker and fell for the styling of the new S550. I'm content with the new car but it's an automatic. I almost bought into a Shelby Tech Pack. Boy am I glad I read up on them here before I did.

I'm pretty much done with Ford myself.

Do you know the process of starting a class action lawsuit?

Don't get it out of sorts man, I love my car, it is far better in every way than any Mustang GT made. I've owned way too many cars to list all makes and models. This car is one of the most fun and capable I've ever had. I'm not done with Ford at all. This issue is just a minor set back to me. My biggest issue is really with people saying "you should have know a tech car wasn't made for the track".... Hello, it's a Shelby GT350, it should have no issue at the track. That being said it's a non issue really. Would I like Ford to fix it, sure, if they don't I'll just do it myself if the need ever arises.

I think it would be good if others also sent Mr. Fields an email.
Just keep in mind that if you do establish some line of communication with them, the mere mention of any legal action will cause them to immediately cease communication with you as it then because a matter of CYA and talking through lawyers.
