I leave from new Orleans back home today and plan on Monday to send an email to the dealership GM and call Ford.

For some reason in Chicagoland it seems very hard to find a good Ford dealership! My dealer before this which I purchased 5 vehicles from scammed me out of a 2015 gt350R which I gave them a deposit on this car way before the car was able to be ordered. Have receipts etch and never got my deposit back. And then they would not even move the deposit to a 2016 or anything else. Down right thieves.

2nd dealer did similar but at least gave me my $5k deposit back literally after 3 lawyer calls and 10 months later into this year.

Last dealer I ordered the base because I could not stomach losing the deposits and he wanted $1k down. Car came and delivered. Car has been awesome until they put the splitter on and all hell broke loose.

And all these deals have been ADM so no excuse from dealers I got a deal.

Just seems to be too many thieves in business.

In my dealerships sort of defense. The service manager created the problem and the GM did try and fix it? Could this been good cop bad cop. Maybe but just horrible and not excited anymore about this car.

Like I said I think Ford may have lost ALL my business.

I work for a manufacturer that sells direct and dealer channels. And we hear about customer neglect and bad service or ? And we step in and try to make the customer happy because we do not want the brand tarnished. Ultimately it is the brand that suffers. So manufacturers got to understand that they may need to intervene and if a certain dealership just performs bad they need to REMOVE that dealership for the best of the brand but most corporations won't do it because at the end of the day it is about the money. Just sad.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience, that is one reason why I try to stay away from the dealers and do my own work unless the car needs a new engine or major component replaced under warranty. I've been down that road a few times and it has gone very well with my Ford dealer. I'm only 25 minutes away from you and my dealer has been straight up with me on my dealings over the past 30 years and satisfactory on service issues. BUT, if all goes well with my GT350, it will probably never see the dealer during the next 10+ years that I own this car.

Hey crazyfish. Sorry about your dealer issues. Which dealer is this? Just want to make sure I don't give them my business. On a side note I took my Shelby to Hawk Ford in Oaklawn Il to have the door gap adjusted. They were, professional, respectful and did a great job. Just saying. Your are not to far from me. I would recommend them.

I picked my car up Tuesday from dealer after they were suppose to look into everything and take care of some warranty work. Got to the dealership early and unannounced only to find my car in front of the dealership being shown off to customers. Of course I pulled up and everyone and their brother came out and said to me we just got car done and washed it for you, Yada Yoda BS.

Ford needs to start yanking dealerships. They don't need as many as they do and clearly they cannot control them. Put the fear of the deity in them. Or at minimum don't give them any allocations on high-end models. Give them only "S" models and no F series.

Out of curiosity how did a dealer keep 5000 of your money?

The amount was less than $5k on dealer 1 and it is really just BS and a shell game on how they manipulate the info. On the receipt it stated 15 mustang R vs. Shelby R. I purchased lots of vehicles from them and trusted them. I literally put down a deposit in 2014 on this car and that is the other hitch. Since there was NO info or exact options because this was based on speculation.

I heard about this car through my SEMA connections. Ordered an all black 2015 Shelby R with all options in 2014. I knew there was going to be less than 500 total vehicles so I speculated. Thought I could trust the dealer.

Dealer did take delivery of 15 all black Shelby R as well. Of course they said it wasn't my car and how do you fight about it? Receipt?

Now in lawyers hands based on delivery of an R and my deposit taken. We will see. Just really don't want to talk about.

Does it throw a code when it does this? (question for everyone, I guess)
Good question. I normally travel with a scan tool but didn't have one with me then. I am out of town right now but when I get home I will see if there are any codes. I didn't physically reset any codes so if cycling the ignition didn't clear the code, it should still be there. And just to be clear, no CEL when this event occurred.

I heard from a Ford Performance rep at Mustang Week that two cooler solutions were in the works. One a lower cost version, less than 1k minus pumps, and the other a tranny swap costing a lot more. This endorses all of the other bits and pieces of information that is similar coming from multiple sources.

According to the rep, the lower cost solution should be in the street literally any day or within weeks. Just passing what I heard as this is of interest to us tech pack owners. I hope their is light at the end of the tunnel now.

I'd be interested in understanding both solutions, the costs, downtime required, etc. then for sure will do one.

Let's hope it's coming soon!

Why would there be a price minus the pumps?

Possibly three sku's? One for the coolers and lines. One for the electric pump. One for the transmission swap? -- You buy the coolers and then whichever pump option you prefer.

(Pure speculation)

Not sure why either. I could have not heard it stated correctly either due to all of the noise, music, people, and exhaust noises from a gazillion Mudtangs cruising the parking lot.

I was pretty sure though that the lower cost solution was a total DIY, or find a dealer or car place to install and that the pumps for the tranny were something that each individual would select on their own. The factory solution for tranny is integrated so that portion of a Ford Performance cooler kit was challenging.

From a warranty point of view a DIY solution seems dubious.

Should be interesting. I can see ford not selling you the tranny cooler with out the differential one.
