Not familiar with the 2012-13 BOSS 302... I tired searching on the available BOSS 302 forums online, but can’t seem to find the answer amongst the many threads posted since the B302 debut.

Did all 2012-13 B302’s come with the “Track Key”, or did only the B302 LS’s have that feature?

Also, is sub-$20k range for a non-LS 2012 B302 that is still stock with average miles for its year a decent price point?

I have a 2013 non-LS and it has the Track Key so it is not exclusive to the LS cars. I believe though if it has been lost, Ford dealers can no longer program a new one. The only differences in the LS are no rear seat, x-brace in its place, front splitter, gauges on the dash (2012 only), wheels, emblems, colors, Recaros come standard, rear spoiler, and the brake ducting...I may have missed a few minor ones.

And if you find a decent one for under $20K, I'd say it's a good deal. Bought mine last summer for $28K with 15K miles.

Thanks for the replies!

Is there a definitive way to tell if the key fobs the car may have is one that is a track key (or if the track key was ever programmed?

There’s no mention by the seller of the Track Key (or if it the car has been programmed/activated). Due to COVID19 and the location of the car, I am only viewing images of the car.

Is there also a breakout of how many B302’s were made in the varying colors for 2012? I have been on a few B302 forums via googling, but I don’t see like any stickies or registry threads or threads with that type of production info. Do either of you recommend one B302 forum over another?

Don't know if there is any other way than starting the car with the track key and the display telling you it's active.

Here are the production numbers:
2012 - https://trackmustangsonline.com/threads/the-officially-unofficial-2012-production-numbers.2341/
2013 - https://trackmustangsonline.com/threads/the-officially-unofficial-2013-production-numbers.2342/

Thank You!!! I’ve been searching for that type of production info between all of the Mustang B302 forums and could not find all that data! Great!

I think the track key was an aftermarket add on from Ford Performance and it cost $302. You could verify whether it's still offered for sale. That way if the car doesn't have it, you could purchase it and have your local dealer install the tune that goes with it.

As with the S550, we know of certain quirks, issues or TSB info that affected some production units.

Is there anything to be aware of with the 2012-13 BOSS 302’s? Any mechanical engine issues, operational issues, etc?
