Thanks for reply. The only deal breaker for me w steeda is there horrible powdercoating.. I had the 5 pt G lower brace on my Roush car and in 2 years it was rusted.. I ripped it off and slapped BMR front brace and never had coating issue again
The rear Irs braces same issue w paper thin powdercoating. I left the rears on when I sold car. I really liked steedas design iver BMR w rear irs brace. But hopefully, there powdercoating has been stepped up.
Tjsteeda wjere do they get powdercoated???
Thanks Anthony
Just throw another 2 o3 coats of paint on them if your worried…

This is per the Steeda website. I understand this correctly. The all MACH 1’s must use the two point brace.

Steeda's S550/S650 Mustang Extreme G-Trac Brace (k-member brace) for 2015+ Mustang GT, EcoBoost, and V6 is a direct bolt-on addition to your Mustang and provides greatly improved front chassis bracing.

Steeda's S550 Mustang Extreme G-Trac Brace for 2015+ Mustang GT, EcoBoost, and V6 mounts close to the control arm mounts, and helps strengthen the connection between the control arm mounts, and the rear of the subframe. This makes the load path more direct, and gives much more effective stiffening, so the suspension geometry does not change during high cornering/chassis loads. Manufactured from super strong chrome moly, alloy steel tube, making it over twice as strong as any mild steel offering.

Note: This brace does not fit 2018+ EcoBoost with A10 automatic transmission along with all years/transmissions of the GT350, GT500, and Mach 1. These vehicles must use the 555-5535 Steeda Mustang Ultralite 2-Point G-Trac Brace.

So. I ordered the Steeda IRS braces and their jacking rails. And just pulled them out the boxes.
The IRS braces are not powder coated silver metal flake, they’re painted straight gray and chipped up and rusting. And is a thin paint. And not completely done.

The jacking rails have a very thin powder coat. Is scuffed and has rust. Is same powder coating on the China rock rails I had on my jeep.
These didn’t make it through shipping. They’re certainly not going to last under the car. There’s other spots on both, just snapped quick pics after opening the box.
I have a few Steeda parts and they’re nice. These are not.

I just checked my photos of Steeda full size rails from when I put them on thinking they looked different than yours only to realize that they look exactly the same on the pictures. In real however the paint feels to be very thin and prone to scratching. Which can happen easily with an OEM scissor jack for example.

I've had 2 sets and both were the same poor quality.

The testing Steeda referenced was clearly on a golden sample not actual production. Not a chance in hell these pass the salt fog testing at any NRTL.

At 5 ft/lbs the paint cracks and chips. It says made in USA right on the box and the inserts. Disappointing to say the least.

I have to sand these and respray them since they’re so badly coated and prepped. They’re already rusting. The prep is really poor. The paint/coat doesn’t scratch like a powder should. It cracks comes off in chunks.

Anyone that gets these, make sure redo them before installing.

Don’t know If it’s just me, but I’ve had a hell of a time getting parts that aren’t poorly made and or defective lately.

But chefs kiss to UPR/HPR as the catch can and hoses I just received are a work of art.

Hello,

The parts are properly powder coated - did you order directly from Steeda or did you order from a distributor? Let me do some work to understand why they may already be chipped or where they originated from - if they weren't properly packaged in shipping, then they could have been damaged - either way, please send me your order number to [email protected]

The jacking rails are made here in the U.S.A. - they are powder-coated by the same supplier that does our other parts - they are not imported from China.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

TJ

I didn’t say there were made in China. I appreciate they’re made in the USA and that you guys make good stuff. At least from my previous orders and other Steeda parts. Hence why I ordered more.

I’m saying I’m disappointed that the coating on each is worse than things I’ve purchased from China in the past.

Even if it wasn’t chipped and rusted upon taking out the box, it cracked from hand tightening a bolt. It’s from a poorly prepped surface. A proper powder coat should adhere and not chip off in chunks easily with minimal pressure. The coating is thin and brittle. It also isn’t a consistent thickness in the coating, the bolts holes in the IRS brace you can see metal. It’s more of a critique of your coating process on two completely different coated items

I’m just going to redo them so they do not rust out. There’s also quite a few people lately that have had similar issues. So it isn’t just me.

The jacking rails are an easy spray and fix.

I ended up ordering from a vendor since you didn’t have it in stock and was installing SC and other parts this weekend.

I got the Steeda 4 point G-trak up front and the rear subframe out back. I don't live in an area where weather is an issue, but I did know the car would see track abuse. That meant it would see plenty of pavement scraps up front and flying sand/rock and loose stuff out back. So I painted them with as many coats as one can of Ford blue would give me. Then clear coated them with two cans of two part urethane. I did this 5 years ago, no rust and very little chipping.
Did you sand off the powder coat before painting? Or did you just paint and clear coat straight over the powder coating?
