What does the difference in the diameter of the pipe do? Is there a performance difference, sound difference? Does it matter at all? I am looking into this exhaust and I notice it comes in 2 sizes and was looking for some insight, does anyone on here have either of these 2 that can help me out? Thanks in advance.

From what I understand it lets it breathe a little more, but the sound is almost unhearable. I have the 3' and it sounds amazing.

the only thing ive heard is that if you go FI get the 3 inch, but if you stay N/A then the 2.5 inch is good.

Not high quality it's shot on my iPhone but I think the audio is decent enough to hear.

Difference is small, if you're staying NA the 21/2 will do just fine for ya. Give us a shout if you have any questions at all!

This!

If you're not going FI 2.5 is optimal. If you want to know why you'll loose power with too big of an exhaust run as fast as you can until you start huffing and puffing. Notice that on exhaling you're actually closing your mouth slightly, now try to run with your mouth wide open and you will feel the loss of power due to air leaving your lungs too slowly...

It's not weird, you don't loose a lot of HP with such a small increase. Maybe 10? It would be interesting to see a dyno run with both.

Might be a dumb question, but wouldn't the smaller diameter headers be enough to give the back pressure needed? I mean how far back does this pressure go? At one point you have an infinite loss of pressure (exhaust tip).

Also, when you say hp is lost, in comparison to what? You lose hp over stock? Or you don't gain as much hp over stock as if you had gone with a 2.5 exhaust system?

You want the smallest exhaust that can efficiently flow the maximum exhaust output of the engine. In this all but the most modded 5.0L Mustangs, that will be a 2.5" exhaust. If you have questions, call us @ 443-730-9428!

Thanks!
