I've helped install a supercharger before and this still intimidates me. Maybe I'll wait and see what FP comes up with that could be installed by my dealer.

Regardless, this thread is fascinating. Fantastic work!
I am wondering if the shop that installs the after market coolers that Ford comes out with will have to be a FP shop.
I am here in Atlanta and the closest FP shop is one the complete other end of town. It's in Newnan for anyone who knows the area.

That s not a problem, within 4 weeks I was at Summit Point in WV. I only got to do parade laps ( at speed) and already love it... Then we went over to Carlisle for the All Ford show...

Plan to track as soon as I get the cooler installed.
If you were on Summit Main, that is a very fun track, and the GT350 is well-suited for the layout; very well suited.

What is the name of the FP shop down in Newnan? I am in that area all the time. Though I haven't experienced any issues with my GT350, I'm waiting for the FP solution to come out and will strongly consider installation by one of their shops.

I'll be at the track tour at AMP on July 15 and will ask them for a status update on the cooler situation.

I tried to look it up online and couldn't find it. Ford Performance told me the name on the phone a few months ago and I can't remember.
I think it's the one that is in Newnan close to I-85.

I was at a Mustang meet up a few weeks ago and ran into a guy that is a Service Manager at a Ford dealership (right next to my house). He has a 2016 tech pack also and we were talking about where to take them to have the coolers installed when (and if) they come out.

He told me that it cost a Ford Dealership 90k a year to be a Ford Performance shop.

Thanks for the info. Theres an Autonation dealership in Union City and also a dealership in Newnan. There is also a couple dealerships down I75 south of Atlanta in Morrow and McDonough. I bought mine at Legacy in McDonough(msrp)but they didnt say anything about being a Ford Performance shop.

Made it to the track again yesterday in 90 degree heat, and once again the cooler worked great.

The highest trans temperature I saw all day was 194 degrees, and that was while pushing pretty hard in advanced group. I also discovered that the cooler will heat soak a bit if the pump is left on to run continuously for the entire session. It's best to actually turn it off for just a few seconds every once in a while to allow the cooler, and fluid inside it to cool.

On a side note I got to meet Jade Buford, who drove the #158 Gt350R-C last year, and I might even get some one on one coaching from him in the near future!

That is great news. Pat yourself on the back for the design and install. Have you done anything to monitor and/or regulate the diff. temps? I haven't noticed if you mentioned it. I see a blue R in your future.

Maybe I missed it, but did you determine a better enter and exit point for the fluid in the transmission? I'm thinking about the home brew option my self if Ford Performance doesn't at least drop some information soon on their solution soon.

I was planning on it, but since I have the R coming I decided not to spend anymore cash modding this car. I would definitely recommend to anybody that plans to add a trans cooler, to also add a diff cooler. Reason being, Ford Likely knew that the trans would overheat before the diff on base/tech cars, and therefore decided that you couldn't possibly overheat the diff fluid before hitting limp mode due to trans fluid temps. Keep the car from going into limp mode by adding a trans cooler only, and now there is nothing to stop you from overheating the diff since the base/tech cars don't have the temp sensors in the diff.

This could likely be the hold up on the kit from FP...

Yes, but it would require an extensive amount of work, and at that point I would just swap out the trans for the track pack/R trans.

This actually works really well just utilizing the fill, and drain plug. Better than I expected to be honest.

Jades a good guy. Did he smile at all? Depending on the pump flow rate it may be getting warm because the oil is moving to fast or slow. A pump controller would be an easy thing to wire in and experiment with. It works like a VFD.

Nope, no smile lol. It was cool to pick his brain a bit though.

Good info on the pump controller. Originally I tossed around the idea of adding a thermal switch.

SVT- Are you going to leave the tranny cooler on the car you're selling? This is one of those cases where the first owner's modifications add to the value, instead of detract from it......IMHO.

I'll most likely just leave it on there so the next person doesn't have to worry about it.

Thanks for answering me questions SVT. Got the cooler installed and tested today. Track weekend next weekend at Mid Ohio. I'll update when done, but I'm guessing it will be fine.
I used an RB racing gear pump. Quiet. Plus I'm pumping into the cooler. I think I'll get better results, as I think I will fill the cooler more. If I pull on it, I thought it might not pull it through the entire cooler. Especially since the hoses are on the bottom.
Problem is, I don't have a way to see the temp. No nGauge yet.
