After waiting for 15 cold air intake to ship for 2 weeks from American Muscle and it never did, so I cancelled and went a different route. I've been eyeing a 19 GT cold air on craigslist and pulled the trigger. I got it home and quickly realized I have one more intake plug. So I used a hot putty knife and cut the intake plug off the 15 cold air intake. After an hour with a little harbor freight dremel, I attached with some jbweld epoxy, I drilled the hole and left the drilI bit rest inside the hole while it dried. I started it without my tune, it did not like that at all, added the tune in and so far so good. Sent my tuner a heads up, he's never seen anyone go this route. We shall see. The size difference is amazing from the 15 to the 19. I have sound tube delete, just too excited to get driving.
Total cost 65$ and about 2 hours of quarantine time.
One more thing there is no difference in the cold air box after measuring, the only difference is the lid and tube.
Doing some data logs now.

Very nice. I guess that tube was deleted on the 16-20's. What's it for?

Yes it's not on the 18 and ups. Just an intake vent from what I can tell.

so there is no difference between the box of a gen 2 and gen 3? So you could just get a gen 3 tube and lid?

Upgrading to just an larger intake tube would net the same results?

What is that tube for? I wonder why the gen 3 don't have it?

Correct, using my gen 2 box with the gen 3 lid and tube, you will need to add the plug and a tune.
Driving yesterday it felt sluggish and slightly worried what have I done...I did a cold start this morning it started like I never heard it start before in a good way, very deep, held the cold idle
well. It's like a different car today, pulls hard, I guess it just needs time to learn, got a flex tune so that will be next.
