$250K for a recreation? Wow.

Spending $250K on a continuation GT350R is certainly not something that I would consider under any circumstances but even at that price I am sure these cars will sell out very quickly to others.

I have never had a good feeling about anything coming out of Las Vegas including Super Snakes and many other variants of tuned SA Mustangs.

I think the first Boss 302 was run in 1968 too. The GT350 started being replaced after '67.

But anyway, the Camaro started production on 29 September, 1966. I have no idea when the Z/28's were built. I know the initial 1967 302ci Z/28 sucked...

It wasn't until the improvements in '68-'69 did it become competitive. I wouldn't really say it was an improvement really either. The class allowed a 5.0 liter engine and Chevy was the first to patch a 283 and a 327 together.

Ford used the 289 until 1968... when the Boss 302 began R&D.

Having my drivers license already in 1967 and being a gearhead at an early age I remember the SCCA Trans Am racing very well and can tell you that the RPO Z28 Camaro's killed the competition in 1968 and also won the championship in 1969 as well.

Roger Penske and Mark Donohue destroyed everyone in their Sunoco Camaro in 1968 including everything that Ford could throw at them and if I recall Donohue won the last 6 or 7 races in 1969 to clinch the championship for Chevrolet and Penske.

As much as Ford wanted to take the Trans Am championship in 1969 with their new Boss 302 the Penske/Donohue team beat out Parnelli and his team that year as well.

Those early Z28 cars were something else and remember them very well!
