You need to address the tire model/compound and get off the cheapo 555G2 and onto a tire that grips well. The width really isn't as big of a deal as you might think. People think wider is always better but its often only a very small improvement.

I'd highly recommend the Yokohama A052 (linear grip is nuts. Its easily a couple levels above and beyond an MP4S and I'd put it above an R888R), and they have a rear size which would work on your 20s, but sadly their selection is limited and doesn't seem to have anything for your 20" fronts. If you change wheels, you could get something worked out.
