I took all that unneeded plastic off, battery cover, engine cover, sound tube. on the 18's that engine cover is so big, it keeps motor unnecessarily hot in summer months....

Thank you for that info. I’ll definitely do something like that up front to prevent that from happening. That’s the only thing I don’t like about the JLT. It just hangs there unsupported. On my 12 GT the JLT lines eventually sagged enough that the unit sat on top of the radiator hose providing ample support.That's the one I got. FYI, you might watch it after install. Mine was rubbing on the front of the head. You can see the small scuff mark in this pic. I just zip tied it to the hose coming from the coolant overflow tank to hold it out away from the head, and it's been fine ever since.
They used that cover to quiet down the noise from the direct injection but I agree, it's massive. I miss the clean look of the early Coyote engines, designed to look good at car shows.
This is exactly what I did. Started to customize the cover and then I said, no wait, a Whipple would look so much better here.Get a Whipple so the cover and engine brace are gone. Problem solved
I could not. I first modded the cover so I could remove without taking the top stabilizer brace off. Now I just keep it off. I do not think it is good to keep unbolting a support brace each time I want to remove cover.makes no sense.
