The car is based off of the Fusion. Also, Lincoln is not calling the motor an EcoBoost. On the trunk itll simply say "3.0T" or "2.0T" because they want their brand to be distanced from Ford. They don't want the car to have anything name-wise from Ford on the car to make it seem more appealing to buyers. They don't want to associate their new design language with Ford, in other words.

^ Good. That is what Lincoln needs to do. They need to distance themselves as far away from Ford as they can. They also should make sure that none of their tech type or luxurious options don't trickle down to Ford. They need to keep some of that stuff Lincoln exclusive. I think Lincoln is starting to get it right especially with their SUV's, the MKC and MKX look fantastic. The cars are starting to look the part as well.

They still do call their infotainment system SYNC 3. Im not sure how they're going to rename that. Before they were calling it MyLincoln Touch.

I think the SYNC may be the one thing that they can share haha. Other than that though try to keep as much Lincoln exclusive stuff as possible.

I'm not quite sure what that 'polished turd' color is doing in the press releases but overall i think its a decent looking car.

I agree they need to distance themselves from ford, especially on the interior.

The v6 sounds like a good engine.
Time for a Lincoln on the s550 platform, tt3.0, similar retractable glassroof... one nice gt car.

I really like the direction they are heading with the MKZ. The front end styling is clearly taken from the Jaguar XF. With 400hp/400tq AWD i will be considering an upgrade from the GT.

When I saw this, I wasn't necessarily impressed. I thought a few things though:

Fusion ST
It's nice that the Lincoln revival attempt is starting
Now do a S550 Lincoln next please.

The car is clean and elegant, I'll give it that. IT does have similarities with a few of the other luxury brands, but that seems to be common in this market segment. I hope it does well.
