The biggest problem with the shortage is because of bitcoin mining. There really wasn't any issues with getting a card before that was a thing. The demand has only gone up and also gaming has increased because of the lockdowns and 'stay at home' vibe thats been going on, but its not really gaming itself thats the problem.

You do bring up a good point, I never looked into it but I wonder when it will be considered a national security problem when new high tech military equipment can't actually be produced or replaced because of the shortages. I wonder if the defense industry has a solid grip on their supply line, they always have Washington watching their back so I imagine if things get worse it won't be a problem.

There was a shortage in 2018 or thereabouts, I remember by fall of that year bitcoin crashed and mining gpu's were stupid cheap. Hopefully that happens again, but ethereum are taking their sweet ass time going to proof of stake.

I sold all of my mining equipment for a healthy profit back then. Had 22 gpu's at one point. Wish I would have just kept mining but.....

I started mining again when I managed to snag a 3090 from Best Buy. I was like huh... What can it do... Well.. It mines at 106mh/s and it used to take 6 1060's to do that... It uses 240w and they used about 600w. I managed to start mining again right before ether soared in December. My laptop and the 3090 paid for themselves in less than a couple months I didn't buy them to mine though.

If your kids like female protagonists, check out Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Amazing game, fantastic acting, and visually incredible. It's on Gamepass, with a sequel possibly coming next year.

Got my parts, and finally setup my PC and new desk. Took my a good 4 days of setting up everything (building desk, building chair, building PC and troubleshooting because of RAM issue). I like the clean look. I have been busy enjoying my games. I forgot to take cool pictures of my PC while I was building it and when everything was set up, you can't really see the PC because its in the holder and its a process to take it out, but its not very exciting to look at lol which is what I wanted, its just a mesh white case . I always held off on building a PC because I didn't like the space it took up, I wanted something small and low profile, so thats why I went with the SSUPD Meshlicious case.

I had my friend help me with the build, the most frustrating part was plugging in all of the power cables into the RTX 6900XT it was a complete pain in the ass. I am glad that everything is working now and the performance I am getting. Absolute top notch, my PC is literally maxed out lol. It only weighs 19 lbs, so its extremely lightweight.

Here are some pictures (The first 4 I had sent to my friend during the build to help me, so thats why it looks a bit weird). I am going to be putting in a new SSD soon, so I can post some pictures then when I open it back up. I am very pleased with how everything came out.

Btw @Mikthehun1 I bought a new xbox controller and its giving me issues again. Bluetooth randomly disconnects. Bought the Duracell rechargeable battery charger and it still does it. I am going to return the controller back to Microsoft. I feel like I am cursed with Xbox controllers lol. I am going to try Amazon this time, hopefully it won't give me issues.

Been playing FO4 while waiting on Deathloop next week. It runs at over 1200fps on the 6900XT

Which did completely fuck the physics until I capped it to 60.

What have you been breaking the build in with?

Lol wow yeah my buddy was telling me his PC weighs ~80lbs lol. He kept telling me that mine was going to be heavy, so I am surprised it only does 20. Was nervous because the PC holder can only support so much weight lol.

I don't have a USB that connects, I bought the wired USB battery pack when I got the controller from Microsoft but it hasn't came in yet. So I am still waiting. One thing I notice is when I go into the Xbox overlay it shows that batteries are low so idk if thats normal or not (the controller came with batteries, and I charged batteries and both show that its low. Im attaching a picture of what Im talking about. The battery level doesnt move at all, when I change batteries. I prefer to have it wireless because its just alot cleaner and convenient.

I have been playing DMC 5 and RE2 Remake. I bought all of the DMC and Resident Evil games, so I am just going to play them and then play the whole series in order. Resident Evil 8 is amazing. I also have been playing Total War 3 Kingdoms too. Its really crazy how good the graphics are now. I feel like a boss maxing everything out and running it on ultra lol.

Thankfully, I only waste my money on good quality stuff that happens to be expensive. Im not one of those dudes who wastes his money on random expensive bullshit stuff 'just because'
