Lucky he didn't get hit by the front of the train and actually hit the train himself.. The Camaro is safer than the 5th gen Mustang though. Hah. Hope no accidents for me.

60k for a ZL1, or 35k plus a 8k whipple PP Mustang and destroy it in every way? Ill take that 15k and do something else with it.
You act as if you would be able to pay cash for either car. Truth is, unless you are loaded, you'd be financing the car, so you'd never have extra $15K to do something else with.

Having owned two GT500's, a 2007 and a 2010, and having raced a ZL1 automatic in Bowling Green in my 2013 Boss, I can tell you on the same day at the same track, my Boss went 4wins-3losses in head-to-head matches with both of us on drag radials and cutting 1.85-1.91 60ft times. Both cars were bone stock other than the tires.

Likewise, at Barber and Road Atlanta, we ran both cars same day, same track on the stock rubber and the Boss consistently lapped the track better than the ZL1.

A friend of mine in Detroit calls them (Slowmaro's).

A friend of mine with no brand loyalties bought a 10 Camaro ss when they came out. In 11, he drove (and ended up getting) a 5.0. His exact words where "anyone who drives both cars and still buys the Camaro has a great big #3 tattoo on them somewhere". And that was the old chassis!

Honestly they look and feel bulky but they are not slow. The current gen mustang also gained weight and lost its advantage in the weight catagory which i really hated Ford when they released the numbers. If camaro do loose weight, equipped with the lt1 and upgrade the interior then well done Chevy. I remember the good old days when we had the rumor for the s550 loosing 200 lbs. Imagine a 3500 lb Loaded GT PP. One day we might see that. :ford:

Was it L99 auto? Mine was a loaded 2012 2ss/rs ls3 manual with corsa sport exhaust and i was able to do 0-60's in 4.8 sec range and quarter mile high 12's. I wouln't call a car like that slow lol. The first two gears felt so long compared to my current 3.73s but a highway pull on 2nd and 3rd gear was a blast. If i remember right second gear topped out at 72 mph and 3rd gear 110 mph. Thats the only car so far i was able to do 130+ mph on a highway.

It was an ls3, but even when I had headers , cai and a tune it wasnt able to crack but mid 12s, my 13GT ran a 12.7 right off the showroom and now its running 10's with a paxton novi 2200 and the usual boltons. I just didnt like the camaro after owning it. 12's are slow to me, but Im used to owning fast cars.

I will also go with the similar modes on my current car but i will mostly use it for road courses rather than quarter mile runs
