That's interesting, a lot of the s197 owners seem to slag off the s550 (probably without ever driving one). What is the reason? Refinement, responsiveness, performance, handling, breaking?getting more of a buzz driving her, then with the S197
Jealousy, because they dont have one, because it's a RHD....That's interesting, a lot of the s197 owners seem to slag off the s550 (probably without ever driving one). What is the reason? Refinement, responsiveness, performance, handling, breaking?

In the 60's in the days of the original Mustang there wasn't much interest in gas mileage or the environment I don't think it would have been that much interest. Bigger engine = more power...Defending the EB here - is it the Mustang Ford would have built 50 years ago if they could? Hell yes.
What are you saying Steve? It's a girls car?:lol:The missus enjoyed the NC500 so much she is (/was) toying with a Mustang for her next car. She's thinking 550 EB vert however I was trying to push her in the direction of a later S197. Doubt she'd be able to get the hang of LHD however...getting in the right (left) side would be hard enough never mind driving it.

Yeah, that's what I said, insurance was prohibitive. I'm sure there are lots in the same boat. My opinion FWIW, shouldn't matter to anyone else, but the Mustang is, in V8, a real boyhood dreamLone Survivor if insurance for the V8 was the same as the EB i'd have forked out for the V8; 2k was nothing, but, an extra 2500 every year until i was 25 (4 insurance renewals) was a bit more of a sting.![]()

Don't worry about getting back OT mate.....this is far more interestingJust to add to the debate, sorry Enoch, back on topic soon....![]()

Sorry, but I agree with what others have said - I wouldn't have considered a rhd mustang if it was only in 4-pot form. Same as I wouldn't entertain getting the cheaper 6-pot option when looking for my '65...V8 all the way, the best sound man has ever created
:hail::love:Sorry very very wrongJust to add to the debate, sorry Enoch, back on topic soon....
If the Mustang had been available in RHD since 1964/5, how many people in the U.K. Would have a LHD one now? The answer is probably about two!![]()
