The base eco-boost should do just fine with the 3.31 gears. Longer gears don't hurt nearly as much with a turbo.

I'd go down pipe and tune to stretch the torque curve out past 5500 a little bit more.

DP & Tune are your best mods as far as hp/$ ratio I believe.

However, don't forget an IC. IMO, the first mod you should do on your EB. (if not a catch can).

Yeah, FMIC (Front Mounted Inter Cooler). The reasoning behind this is that the stock IC is pretty worthless, and heatsoaks easily.

More so if you have a tune, which will cause the car to pull timing, which = less power. At least, it's the path I'm taking. Check the i4 tech sub forum, lot's of great insight there :)

I agree with the intercooler but that might take him over budget if he gets the Tune too.. it is important tho..

I guess I'm the only one who'd do exhaust first, but that's probably because I don't do any kind of racing.

First mod would be a tune. I'd go for the Cobb from a vendor who provides free upgrade tunes. I like Cobb because of the data logging capability and nice display.

Second mod would be an IC. Seems like the stock unit is a pretty serious weak spot. I'd probably wait a bit before choosing an IC because while there are already a couple out, it seems like there are several more under development, so I'd wait to see how things settle out.

Would also give some time to save up and maybe get everything done at once (but the purpose of going with a vendor who provides free tunes was to allow getting a tune first, then getting all the other stuff at a later date without paying again for another tune).

Or put it towards the loan on your car!
This, so this. These things are peppy from the gate, do a few cosmetics then get towards that loan paid down.

How much would new gears cost?? I'm new to "cars". Always had trucks. This mustang is faster then any truck I've ever owned in my life.

Performance Driving School...best money spent. Then you'll know what to do with what you end up with.
