10 Speed Auto Downshift Surge

I haven't seen any other complaints about this. When I'm using the paddle shifters to downshift it seems like instead of the shift being quick and crisp the car surges forward before the transmission locks into the new gear. It's bad enough that I really don't use the paddle shifters at all and just set the transmission to sport. Downshifts in automatic mode seem to be just fine. Is this normal for this transmission or should I bring it in for a diagnostic at the dealer? Thanks!

It could be a valve body issue; or just a simple TCM reflash by the Dealer (which has been sucessful for other owners). There is a bulletin on valve body replacements for the 10R80. There are also a few other minor bulletins for the 10R80.
