051A Guard V6 Review

I saw your response in another thread! So wish I could have gone...! Annapolis mall right? Instead I'm stuck here in thermodynamics... Enough of me ranting...! lol I'm shocked that even the Ford Reps rushed over! Very interesting... And yes I have 3.15's. I had planned to get that DIB V6 with 3.55's at Koon's in sterling but ended up getting my Guard out of concern for MPG's and of course because it was both closer and showed up a week before the other.

Well I guess they've all wanted to see/drive one also (they've been stuck with the EB and 1 GT) and Ford is pushing the EB non stop according to them. They haven't even seen a V6 until today.

They're at Tysons all weekend FYI. Fri-Sun.

I am also a fan of the 3.7L in the 2015 Mustang V6. Although all the hype is about the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang and the 2015 Mustang GT the V6 is definitely a contender for performance.

I feel bad that the V6 model is being left out of the general after market and the 2015 Mustang Ford Racing Performance Parts line up. It seems like Ford is trying to phase this option out and included it in the 2015 Mustang line just as an experiment. I would personally hate to see it go.

We at JDM plan on supporting the 2015 Mustang GT, EcoBoost and V6. I would like to get a V6 in here ASAP for some custom tuning especially an automatic where a custom tune will make a HUGE difference in performance. If anyone is interested just let me know. ; )

Zack they are calling your name!

And Nick, definitely felt like Ford is intentionally keeping the V6 away from the EB. IMO, I think if you got to compare the 2 with equal trims, people would come away wanting the V6 vs the EB...probably why they aren't allowing it.

Haha I agree!! Nick, Definitely looking forward to seeing what the aftermarket can do with the V6! I think for tuning, Throttle response and adjusting the shift points on the automatic is definitely where efforts should be focused. Hoping you guys can come out with some cosmetics too! Carbon fiber dash side pieces to make up for where Ford cut corners comes to mind!

We will defiantly have a nice tune developed for the automatic cars. It looks like Ford changed the transmission tables around again to make things more difficult again but luckily we know how to work those tables pretty darn well. ;)

I will keep everyone updated all in due time.

Zach I would just purchase an aftermarket part for it. I'm sure there will be carbon fiber pieces soon and if not you could always upgrade to one of the premium or PP dashes probably for a few hundred if that.

I'm thinking the same. Buying some 3m vinyl would probably be the way to go as long as it matched the dash. Still trying to decide if I want to keep the carbon fiber or not though. It looks good but that 50AP aluminum also looks good.

My favorite so far is the brushed aluminum from the premiums. I saw the PP ones today and just didn't like the tuned.

I myself prefer the Carbon Fiber Wrapped Dash over the two different brushed aluminum overlays. Who needs the extra heat and glare from the Sun especially in the middle of a typical Florida summer.

These are pictures of the seat wiring as requested by Spartan. Top is drivers side and bottom is passengers side. Unfortunately I can't get a clear picture of the actual wiring coming out of the carpet but I was able to snap a picture of the seat side of the wiring. It looks to be about the same amount of wiring coming to each seat.
