Been too busy to drive and/or post lately...and too busy to change oil. Wanted to change it at precisely 1k miles, so at 1600 miles I finally got the parts and free time needed to do it. Lucky enough to have access to a do-it-yourself auto shop, complete with lifts and all the tools and equipment anyone could ever imagine.
Hey Caballus,
Thanks for a great edition of your tour of Germany! At least on my crap laptop, the only video that had sound was the one you said did not. Everything seems faster when you can hear it.

I really appreciate the videos and descriptions of life over there. Can't get much more German than the Black Forest and centuries old timber frames!

Pretty slick when you can get the kpms up on the video!

Thanks again, Tank

Hey Tank--I'll keep working the technical challenges (operator-induced for sure) until I master taking a simple video with sound, and hopefully speed. Will also learn to cut the snapshots down a bit ;). Short of an occasional 20 minutes at the track, which is not possible yet for reasons we all know, I couldn't imagine a better place to drive this car...

European 6G Meet

For anyone that hasn’t had a chance to click on the European 6G Meetup from the homepage, I’d highly recommend it. Well worth the scroll. Only 2 x GT350s, but 40(+) 6G Mustangs came together, many with noteworthy mods. The videos are pretty cool too...

Schwarzwald cruise

Same road Porsche uses to test Panameras. Encountered 4 or 5 that day (see 2:00 mark). Gotta hold back a bit around blind curves, because bicyclists also use the route and there is oncoming traffic. The few readings above 100kph are OBVIOUSLY GPS reading errors...

Driving the roads of Fränkische Schweiz ("Franconian Switzerland"--Actually north eastern Bavaria, Germany) rivals driving the Black Forest. Also, FS is known for having the highest concentration of breweries in Germany. The highest of the high is in Aufseßer. Population = 1500. Breweries = 4.

Challenge...deciding whether to continue to drive the GT350 through awesome back country roads at 100kph or park and enjoy the beer...and schnapps......

Notice the Maypole in the background...awesome tradition...

Congratz, beautiful car !
I'm not sure I understood how you imported the car though, was it through a specialist or on your own ? (I am a GT350 owner in France, so that is of particular interest to me)
Let's try and meet up if we can, either in France or Germany (I go there couple of times per year)

Bonsoir, Julio. Ça va? I imported through a US military sales program. Those of us who do that are very lucky. The car is 100% US spec; no mods required for registration and the price is below MSRP, even with shipping...lucky.

Would love to meet. I go to France quite often. Was tempted this past weekend to drive to Mont-Saint-Michel for the start of the tour and then follow it into Normandy. Decided to head to Bavaria instead.

PM me if you think there's a chance to get together this weekend. I presume you will have extra time for Bastille Day and perhaps we could meet in Alsace and pop over onto A5. You will love that car on the Autobahn!!

Not sure if you've seen this area of the forum. Great group!

Man that road seemed a bit tight....

Slick video - seems like you've got your set up the way you want it. Would you mind giving details on what you're using now?

As always, appreciate your posts!

I wish I had planned it in advance...I would definitely go! Missed the 50th Anniversary Mustang Day that was in Lemans in April as well. Plenty more opportunities in the future, hopefully...

Yeah, that particular road is very tight, especially considering that you only "own" 1/2 of it...two way traffic. Then, add bicycles to that. Gotta drive carefully, but still loads of fun.

Used a Garmin 20 Dashcam. Great resolution, GPS capability, etc. However, I took it back because of the lack of controls on it. You can't reach up and easily pause it. Instead, you have to actually turn it off, and the on/off switch is not easy to get to when driving. Seems minor, but would like to be able to reach up and start/stop easily or remotely through a smartphone. So, the dashcam search continues....

'till the cows come home

In the summer, cows are taken up into the Alps, where it is cooler. Bringing them back down in mid-September is cause for traditional celebrations...for some. For paranoid GT350 owners, it's one more item to add to an already long list of things that could ruin an otherwise perfect day...

I wonder if its easy to polish cow dung off the paint and wheel wells.

If you're worried a cow will stumble into your car you probably don't need to. Myth busters has found cows/Bulls to be quite agile:
