Pretty low Aug numbers both this year and last. I cant wait to see this when S550's start being delivered.

Nice charts. We probably won't get a full month of S550 #'s until... November? Until then the mix will be mostly S197's I'm guessing.

I'm surprised Mustang sales aren't higher with the super aggressive discounts. Supply isn't an issue as there are plenty on dealer lots.

No surprise. We know hundreds here are awaiting the 2015's.

Supply may be great in some places and not others. They've completed building 2014's, right? Well anyway... my "local" dealer has no Mustangs on the lot. They had 1 last week, but it's gone and they have 2015's on order.

The dealer I last bought from has 17 Mustangs, 11 GT's... That dealer is either the highest volume on the east coast, or 2nd, so it makes sense they have many.

That said, Ford is now allowing the look up and build of 2015 Mustangs and it wasn't the last time I looked.

Imagine if Ford had actually marketed the S550 with prime time commercials and all that jazz people have been asking for. 2014 sales would be in the gutter.

Clearly there is a good business reason why they haven't yet.

Crater Lake Ford here in Medford has 5 new 2014 ' s on the lot.
2 base GT's, a premium GT and two base 6's

Right now I could get $10K off on a Premium 2014 GT, but I'm waiting for the launch of the 2015. I want to read the reviews and hear from the aftermarket. I've always bought off the lot, but for this, I think I'll order it the way I want.

I wonder what the year to year pony cars life time numbers are like, I guess the numbers would be hard to shred with all the other pony cars Cougars, Firebird, Barracuda, Capri, Javelin and AMX. I'm guessing for grand total the Mustang 2 did better that some of these.

Thank God we have the Mustang, Camero, and Challenger.

It's a buyer's market right now if you just want V8 power...I drive by a GM dealer on the way to work and they've always got a used Mustang out front.

Personally, the styling and weight gain on the '15 does nothing for me. The conservative power output doesn't help. A smart buyer would scoop up a '14 or '13 while dealerships are trying to get them off the lot.

I'm no marketing genius but I have a feeling the S550 is going to get a major styling refresh sooner than later.
