Went over to Koon's Falls Church to look at the 2015 Mustang they got in for dealer training. (for those who will ask this, the hood is not fully closed in ANY pictures...he had to keep opening it for training purposes so it's just sitting down and not fully closed).

Hope you all enjoy.

My first impression(s). :eyebulge:  :clap2:  :D

• WINDOW DECAL VIA THIS LINK (http://researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/FordSticker.html?title=1FA6P8TH3F5299281). This will show you the details of the car and packages. Vin is 1FA6P8TH3F5299281.

• Pictures DO NOT do this car justice. It is an amazing looking car in person. Mean but very sexy and the lines are just perfect.

• For a comparison, they had some 14's on the lot. Going to look at them and going back to the 15, the only way I can describe it is like this. You have two sisters (not yours lol). One is about a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. The other is a 10. You sure aren't going to be complaining about having that one 7.5 ranked sister because shes still damn good looking. But man, the 2015 Mustang is just a hit out of the park in every single way.

• This car is going to age very very well, where the recent ones will feel dated. In 10 years this car is still going to look great. It just has a great design. Nothing that will stand out as 'ugh'.

• It has a very low stance and when you sit in it you really feel grounded (if that makes sense). The hips on this thing...man oh man.

• The 18" wheels are nice and feel more like 19" wheels. Those factory rims are actually pretty damn nice.

• In terms of the silver...in person and at least in that room, the INGOT silver looked amazing and really complimented the rear diffuser and black accents and with the black/redline, it just looks good. I think INGOT just moved up past magnetic for me. Talking to the trainer, he said the darker colors just really lose the rear diffuser and accents.

• Also, regarding INGOT, I think this would be one of the colors that actually would look really nice with an aftermarket stripe. I think a Ghost/Phantom stripe would look amazing on this color.

• The materials are TOP notch. This car feels luxury compared to the other models. Everything felt solid, not cheap. For those concerned about the toggle switches being cheap, they definitely are not cheap. They felt like aluminum and looked high in quality and felt solid to the touch, not like cheap plastic. Now there are chrome highlights on pieces here and there through-out.

• The premium seats are SOOOOO nice and comfortable. You cannot go wrong with those seats.

• The redline was nice. Would I get it. No, just because I'm not a fan of that bright red. I would still get saddle since I believe the color would age well with the car.

• This supposedly had 68B on it (premiere trim). The black definitely looked deeper then other pictures I have seen.

• Couldn't get in the back seat but it looks tight and cramped, especially if the driver has to have legroom if they are tall. BUT the seats look comfortable and I'm sure it will be fine for SHORT trips of an hour or less.

• He turned on the battery for a second to show the guys some stuff. When he did that I got to look at the front/rear lights, pony projectors, etc. All are just awesome. The back lights are just sleek and sexy and those front LEDs just make the car unique.

• The trunk has nice space. The SHAKER sub takes up no main space but does take up the right wheel well in the trunk. I put a pic of the open left wheel well for space comparison. Also the rear seats fold down.

• Unfortunately he wouldn't start the car due to training and until he was leaving later in the day. But talking to him about the sound, it's obviously not going to have the GT growl. He described it to me being what you would here from a Japanese type sport car. But he said don't worry, there isn't any way Ford was going to let this sound like any other 4 Cylinder out there, even their own STs.

• Wouldn't discuss exact MPG really but said he was getting somewhere in the 30's with the EB4. Asked about GT MPG and he had no idea.

• Overall, walking out of there, I was just sold on this car. It's a 110% buy for me. Only thing left is test driving.

Feel free to ask me any questions. ;)

Cool, glad you liked it. That's the same car I saw at Koons Ford of Baltimore Monday. It's got me seriously thinking about switching my seats to red with Magnetic.

This car looks amazing in silver and magnetic. What a tough choice between those two.

Amen to that... Those red seats accented the silver nicely. They were a very nice shade of red that wasn't to in your face.

Looks great in ingot but the silver really shows some of the poor panel fitment.

Thanks for the post and the GREAT pics!

Man, I thought I had my mind set on DIB, but the Ingot just keeps speaking to me. I know it's not as sexy or flashy as DIB and some of the other colors, but I think it shows off the curves and accents of the car better than any other. And I like the practicality of it in the Texas heat, along with the ease of keeping it looking clean. Other priorities prevent me from spending the time these days to wash my car frequently, and my current Kona '12 usually doesn't look as good as it should as a result. I'm sure I would struggle just as much with keeping DIB looking decent.

I just got back to work from there! They actually called me over the intercom to move my car, surely anyone from the forum would have noticed that!

Here are my thoughts that I posted in the other thread:

I just checked out the 2015 at Koon's Ford Falls Church. Holy crap this car is awesome. The car was a premium Ecoboost with the redline interior. The seats were amazing. Ah-mazing. I am a Mercedes Benz technician, and short of our uber-pricy Designio custom leather the Mustang's interior was far superior. The seats were supportive in every regard without being tight or constricting. I wouldn't call them sport seats as the bolstering was more on the soft side rather than firm, but once seated I could tell easily I won't be needing the Recaro option. The leather surface was soft and silky smooth with the feel of 100% authentic leather. Mercedes' MBTex simulated leather is rough in comparison, and the premium seats in my 2011 have more of a vinyl stiff feel to them.

I can finally say the steering wheel is definitely smaller than the S197. I know it's been repeated in print everywhere but actually holding the wheel in my hands was the proof I needed. I'd venture it's 1/2-3/4" smaller in diameter with about the same grip circumference. There were more buttons all over the wheel but none of them intruded on the feel of the wheel itself.

The car was an auto so I could not experience the shifter linkage of the manual. I sampled the shift buttons/paddles and made a quick video for those who requested it. They are indeed just buttons in the shape of a paddle with a very small 'click' and not any kind of mechanical feel like I'm sure some hoped for.

Ergonomics were perfect. I'm 6' 170lbs and the seat-steering wheel-center console-dash reaches were all perfect. The dashboard is considerably further away from the occupants giving a more open feel while the sloped roof and thick center console help retain the cockpit feel. Knee room was considerably improved. Headroom felt the same as my current car. The battery was disconnected so I couldn't adjust the seat. I forgot to adjust the steering wheel but where it was when I got in was already perfect.

The door panels feel world class in comparison to the current car. The majority of the panel itself is a firm but soft touch vinyl like material while the armrests were a similar leather to the seats. They were probably a simulated leather for greater durability but were very nicely padded. Since the car had the redline package the center portion of the door had the red panel with the cross stitching and looked supurb.

I took about a dozen photos and a few short videos so I'll post them when I get home from work.

Spartan: "Also the rear seats fold down."

Will you please give me your assessment of how easy/difficult it will be to load a full sized, adult tourist style bicycle in the trunk, with the rear seat down?

I will have front wheel, saddle/seat post and left pedal removed and the handle bars rotated 90 degrees to be parallel with the length of the bike frame.

What will be the clearance issues at both the trunk opening and shock towers?

What will be the length issues - between back of Mustang right seat and trunk lid/rear bulkhead of car? Assume the rear fender of the bicycle will be positioned up against the car's right front seat and that the now rimless fork of the bike will be at the rear of the car.

Having examined the trunk like you did, I 'd appreciate your comment on the accommodating of a bicycle.

Thanks - ranchero -

Hey Ranchero

I think the difficulty wouldn't be too bad since you are taking off the front wheel and seat and left paddle.

Now mind you I have an explorer sport so loading my bike is open the trunk and throw it in and done.

The bike will definitely take up your width of the trunk and since I didn't get to see it from the trunk to the inside with the seat down at the same time, it's hard to say about the length but I'm pretty sure you would have some clearance from the length of the seat to the end of the trunk on both ends so you wouldn't have to worry about the bike hitting the seat or trunk end.

If you look at the one pic, you can see a box in there with the seat down and then another pic you can see the left side of the trunk and the box. I'm guess about 5 of those boxes can fit length wise from the back seat to the trunk end.

Thats my bad on not getting a good pic of the trunk open from the back. It was only up for a short period and I wanted to get the spare tire, shaker, etc.

One thing I thought was strange was that none of the dealer employees knew anything about the car. One guy in business attire asked if it was the 50th anniversay. I said it was, but he was thinking it was the Limited Edition Anniversary model which puzzled me. So there was a Mercedes technician explaining the details on the LE 50th Mustang to a Ford employee!

Hah yah totally agree. I knew more then any of them even the demo Ford guy that brought it.

There was a customer there asking about it and I actually took over as the sales person and explained the different trims and packages for the S550 and the limited editions in Kona/Wimbledon. The customer had 3 mustangs and didn't even know this one was coming out yet. Sounded like he was going to try to get a limited in Wimbledon white. and went to the sales person to inquire...hah.

Ford should just hire the Mustang 6g forum members as the demo people lol.
