Who knew the Fusion was inspired by the '68 Mustang :p

These are great. Looks like the all the creases/angles are turned up 10%.......everything just a little sharper, more exaggerated. I like it

Oh, and I like the all black diffuser!

I pray the SVT has some of these more exaggerated proportions. The hips already look good on the S550 but the ones above oh man that overhead view is sweet.

Wishful thinking I know, the SVT will probably not have too different of a look, but one can dream!

I very nearly typed the same but, yeah, I guess its too much to dream the SVT would look like that.

If Ford are reading this..........consider it for the '18MY refresh

Thank you for posting these. Looks like these were kemal curic's sketches.

It's totally SHOCKING there's no mention of a Fusion/Accord/Kia/Hyundai as inspiration for any of the design. From now on anyone that brings it up, I will be posting these images.

I'm impressed how many of the members here nailed the inspiration behind a lot of the elements here. Some guys pointed these out way before the reveal ( I think as early as those track leaked pics and definitely by the time chaz rendered it)... somethings we heard like,

The nose is '68 inspired. Coke bottle bodyside, rear haunches, Ford GT inspired interior gauges and toggle switches etc. whoever pointed these out, kudos!

Glad they changed the rear bumper diffuser. It looks pretty gaudy.

This renderings looks better than the actual car. I hope future redesigns will take some of this design cues.

I like the hood and nose and hope the SVT looks that aggressive. The rear haunches however are just too much. It looks nice as a render but it's too cartoonish and it would resemble the Camaro if you were to see it in real life. Overkill IMO.

On the other hand I love the interior sketch. I'm not sure if it's the lack of buttons on the steering wheel but it looks even cleaner than the actual car.

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't use the "MUSTANG" lettering on the rear trunk lid in the production model.

Those sketches are just rough interpretations of the body style, kind of exaggerate. The basic body of the SVT will be the same. I think what will be different are vents/scoops on the hood and front fenders indicated by the camo pics, and maybe more aggressive front splitter and rear spoiler.
We'll have to wait 'till the first refresh in '17/18 for a more aggressive body style like the difference between the '66/67.
