Evening chaps,

Might be a stupid thread but hey, I'm always game for being laughed at!

I noticed yesterday that my washer jets were more of a dribble than a spray so I assumed it was the fluid getting low. What surprised me was I didn't get any kind of warning. Surely the car will warn when the fluid is getting close to empty?

Filled it today and it didn't take anywhere near the normal 4-5 litres...

Might just have been having a bad day but I thought I'd ask.

Tack.

I guess they worked perfectly after topping up? So not blocked or frozen?
Not tried them since as the cars clean now! It wasn't cold enough to have been freezing and I was hammering it down the a34..

I did notice we don't get the luxury of a filter on the filler pipe...

Correct, no warning! First time the other night that I've ran out, normally I'll top up after a run or washing the car.

Wow... you EU people are spoiled. A filter on the fill tube for window cleaner fluid? Of all the unnecessary things, haha. And a warning when it's empty? The dribble is the warning. Money saved was invested in a beefed up and powerful V8 and, finally, an IRS. Certainly not a good manual transmission, but... bygones.

actually GM used filters on the washer hose in the washer bottle at least as far back as 1964, so they aren't spoiled for wondering why their car doesn't have one.

Mine ran out, no warning, mind you, none of my cars have ever said that.

Never had a car with the warning apart from the dribble.
Water usually readily available

I've clearly been spoilt over the years with warnings!

I think it's more unusual not to have it! RX8, both 370's, Leon, Mazda3, Accord all had a warning beep or light (the Mazda has a warning graphic), all had filters as well :)

I might have to get rid of the Mustang now, what a let down!

I am very surprised there is not a warning. A run-of-the-mill Focus even has a warning indicator. Also, a rear windshield wiper. Would be nice to have one of those on this car.

I'm glad it doesn't have a rear wiper. They ruin the lines of a car. Had to remove mine from my old 350Z. Made it look 100x nicer

Jesus, I've used a few litres of water in the past 48 hours! The roads here are wet and dirty and following other cars gets the windows filthy.

I have discovered that overtaking any and everyone solves the above.
