I ordered some BMR SP080 springs along with their camber/caster plates back in October and finally got around to installing them last week. I'm very happy. Looks/handles great and ride quality did not suffer at all.

The place I had the alignment done had a hard time aligning it, but it was their lack of experience with camber/caster plates on their end. I want to give a huge thank you to Kelly at BMR for talking the alignment tech through the adjustments. The alignment place kept telling me that I needed camber bolts to get the adjustment I needed. No, I didn't. They were even telling me that I installed the camber/caster plates on the wrong side and were only convinced that they were installed right after they removed a strut. Oh well, it's all good now.

I also ordered some painted coil covers and plenum cover from RPI Designs in October and they finally arrived yesterday. All in all, I'm happy with how everything turned out.

Here are some horrible pics I shot. I'll get some better ones on a sunny day.

Wow, thank you Dave for the post!

I am happy to know that you like our components, and that we were able to get everything dialed in. Sometimes, those alignment shops simply need to talk to the companies who make the products, as they are typically performing high volume "toe-and go" jobs on OE equipped vehicles.

Thanks again! BMR FTW!

I had the same springs on my S550. Liked them so much, I now have a set on my s197. Great ride quality for lowered cars!

Definitely, hands down, the best ride quality of any lowered car I've had.

You'll love them.

I don't know. I honestly think they fell within spec and they didn't touch the rears. I just wanted to get out of there after the fiasco with the fronts. I guess I can always go somewhere else to get the rear more positive. I'll see if I get any inside tire wear.

Yeah, lets get some of the rear camber out of it.

I know we were concentrating on the front, due to the issues.....but I would have told them in a split second to pull some of it out of the back.

Let me know when you take it in again, shoot me a call and lets go over the settings again.

Will do. I'm gonna take it to another place for that. I'll definitely let you know. Thanks. I have a feeling they would have told me that there is no camber adjustment in the back. We all here know that's not the case.

What would you like to see the rear at?

Well with a car like yours, with those springs and your tires I like to see about 1/4 to 1/2 degree less camber out back than up front.

If I was to pick your alignment, camber wise, I would do

Front: -1.25 to -1.5
Rear: -1.00 to -1.25

This is for typical streetcars. For racing and competition use, or serious HPDE enthusiasts...I shoot for slightly different base settings.

Well, the price is the same for a four wheel or rear-only alignment, so maybe I'll just have them fine tune everything. I will be taking it to a shop that only does alignments, but they just told me that they weren't too familiar with the S550's. Could you email me a pic of the rear camber adjustment points to [email protected]? I know I've seen them on the web before, but can't remember where.

Thanks again.
