The difference is more than likely the price because of shipping. It's a large item. AM includes shipping in their price. Levittown Ford is vendor, you can contact them for a quote that includes shipping. Or you can try your local Ford dealer and see if they'll price match, and you can pick it up. Don't forget to specify if you want the back up sensor holes or not.

That's weird. The site looks exactly the same as the one you posted but for a different dealership. About $15 cheaper.

I'm assuming you have to order the valance also? Do you know if it comes as a kit with all bolts/screws etc.....?

Anyone else think its weird that vendors have a core charge for bumper covers? Aside from the sky high cost to ship your old bumper to them, why would they want a bunch of used bumpers anyway?

Obviously nobody would send in their old bumper when the shipping is more than the core they would be refunded not to mention the old bumper is worth more than the core, so is it just a way to trick less observant customers into thinking they are getting a lower price?

Those dealers use the same interface, they just have it programmed to show their price, probably calculated as a percent of MSRP.

Yea I understand that, I was just explaining what it looked like since he couldn't open. "weird" was that the link wasn't working for him but was for me. Sorry for the confusion.

When I had mine replaced by an independent shop, I was surprised by the core charge, too. The explanation given to me was that they want to ensure the old ones stay off the recondition market.

I briefly considered keeping mine and storing it, since it had stripes and PPF on, and the ding was not terrible. However, it really is a large piece to store so I said Effitt.

I'm new to Mustangs and still trying to learn everything I can so I have one quick question. What is the difference between the base bumper cover and the premium one (maybe even pictures to help show the difference)? Thanks for any help and my apologies for thread jacking!

Ooh, I know this one!

The base bumper does not have the single diffuser fin on each side, and it does not have black trim separating the diffuser from the bumper.

The premium bumper has the fins, and the black trim. Note that the diffuser is still one piece with the bumper.
For those that install the RTR diffuser, a premium bumper is required, and the diffuser actually gets cut off and discarded.

Pics...

Top is base bumper, bottom is premium. Was odd to me that the base model is body painted, and premium has black (raw) trim, but you can tell the Premium bumper looks much better. Hence the desirability.
Thanks guys for the explanation and the pictures! This clears things up completely! I really appreciate your help.

I painted my diffuser gloss black, because I liked it better than with the yellow diffuser.

Don't put down the base bumper. You can add dual thin fins to it, and it looks more race car than the premium. And of course you can paint the lower section any way you desire.

Saw that thread. Those dual fins for the base bumper don't fit all that well. Definitely doesn't look more "race car" to me, but it's all mostly opinions when it comes to appearance preferences.
