Hey guys,

Just got my AED Flex Fuel Tune finalized and I am very pleased with the drivability, power (from what I can tell), as well as the customer service provided by Shaun from AED. He worked with me for a while dialing everything in to make everything as perfect as possible and I absolutely love that he went over everything in detail.

I still have my Lund 93 and FF tunes as well to do a comparison once I get this car on a dyno with my AED tune. Honestly can't go wrong with either one, both drive smooth, both seem to make great power and both provide some of the best customer service. In my opinion Jon Lund and Shaun are the top two tuners for these 5.0s but that's just my opinion.

Just thought I would make a post for those who were interested in AED's tunes and didn't hear about it. I'm not here to start a war just here to share my updates and thoughts and results that's all.

I had the following mods with my Lund Tunes:

-SW 1 7/8" Catted Headers
-Corsa Sport Catback
-PP Mustang
-Steeda CAI

Also the dyno numbers might seem low for the mods but the guy at the shop told me his dyno reads lower than all the others in the area. Every dyno is different as well.

So far my Lund Tune made the following:

93 Tune - 397 whp 373 wtq
FF Tune - 411 whp 377 wtq. (E85 - Tested to be E80 and the car still had about 1.5 gallons on 93 in the tank)

I have the following mods with my AED FF Tune:

-SW 1 7/8" Catted Headers
-Corsa Sport Catback
-PP Mustang
-Steeda CAI
-FRPP 47# Injectors

First Dyno Picture --> Lund 93 Tune
Second Dyno Picture --> Lund FF Tune
Third Dyno Picture --> AED FF Tune

Conlcusion:

Both tunes produce very similar numbers and the driveability is great as well. The AFR running lean at initial WOT issue that I was having in my Lund FF Tune (can be seen in dyno chart #2) is now gone and that is probably the most significant difference that I have noticed between the tunes that I had for my car. I think the upgraded fuel injectors as well as going through many datalogs with Shaun helped dial in the fueling for the car on E85. Overall, can't go wrong with either one honestly and I am very happy with my AED FF tune.

Guess who's dyno graph is the one with mine:D

The shop told me you had jlt intake and 93 octane bama tune lol Let me know how it goes cause i might go similar route! My pull was on stock tune with only steeda intake and borla catback! Let us know how you like that AED tune! Can't wait!

Demon,

What was the stock numbers if you had done any?
I actually didn't get a chance to do a stock run lol. Oh man you were at FLP too Hahah thats awesome. Wow you pretty much made the same numbers as me but I have headers haha. I'm assuming you're the blue one one correct?

Oh and I don't know why they had those details down because I didn't have the Bama tune lol. That was on the dyno at Sound Performance lol.

Yessir he's great to work with.

Were you having fueling issues with Shaun's FF tune? Curious why you added the injectors on his and not with Lund. Looking forward to seeing the dyno results.

Yes sir its the blue line. The car had 11,000 miles on it, stock tune with no tune steeda intake, borla touring catback with resonator, fuse pull, pedalmax, and royal purple synchromax trans fluid swap. So their dyno reads lower or what? Before we started they told me their dyno reads 5 to 10 whp lower than the ones in our area!

With headers did you have intake as well? You should have been way above 420 whp with that setup! Current setup i m guessing you will be around 430 to 440 whp! The Steeda intake is awesome, i still can't believe the gains.

No sir, I actually purchased the 47# injectors when I was about to get my Lund FF tune, but it was later that I read it isn't necessary to upgrade for the 15's. I got my FF tune before my injectors arrived so I didn't install them until I switched over to the AED FF tune.

Damn those are solid numbers for the mods that you have haha I'm not sure what's going on with my numbers. They told me that their dyno reads lower than the previous dyno I went to (Sound Performance) and another shop in the area. They told me 40-50whp less though haha. At sound performance with my car put down 440whp on 93 and they had a mustang dyno.

Yes I had the intake with the headers as well. I thought I would be around those numbers but with headers, catback, intake and tune my car put down 397whp at FLP lol.

Nice, congrats! I had Shaun tune my 12 and he did an awesome job with power and drivability. At that time I spoke to him on the phone a few times and he is full of knowledge and really knows his stuff!

Interesting, maybe your pulls were on 4th gear instead of 5th. My first two pulls were 383 whp and 364 lbft pretty constant and then for the third pull they wanted to wait 15 to 20 minutes to cool the car down, and then Bam all of a sudden it jumped from 383 to 395 whp and 364 to 368 lbft! Go figure!

They were actually in 5th cause I asked the guy to do it in 5th specifically lol. That's freakin awesome though, with headers and a tune you'll be in the 420+whp for sure!

Thanks man! Very true he does know his stuff and explains things very well too. Didn't get a chance to speak with him over the phone but through email he was always quick to reply, provided details about things if necessary.

what made you decide to switch?
I actually had my heart set on AED from the start, was just waiting for Shaun to release his tunes for the 15-16 mustangs.

Ah ok. Seems he is starting off a little slow with the S550's. Not many people around here are going to him I suppose. I know he tuned a Hellion TT car already though. Once I am back in a 2016 I will head over there and get tuned by him as well.

Are you using the ngauge as well? Does it show the percentages like Lund's do?

Yessir, he's been working with SCT and also needed to do some R&D for the S550's but didn't get a chance to do that before which is why he took longer. Awesome, let us know when you get yours tuned by him too!

I'm actually using the X4 tuner, I know there's a PID you can select from the list generated when making a datalog through Livelink Gen II, however I haven't actually tested it to see if it works for detecting ethanol %. Right now I'm using a the Quick Fuel test tube to test for ethanol %:
