If your alignment is "good" as you read this, then I recommend that you go out to your S550 and mark the positions of the OE Toe Rods/Links.

If you have BMR, and only BMR Toe Rods installed - don't worry about it!

During early development with the S550 Platform, we noticed reoccurring toe alignment issues. This is why one of the very first parts we developed was our TR005 Toe Rods. Instead of just making a cool looking adjustable piece, that really serves NO purpose - we developed our kit to feature HD Steel Zinc Coated eccentric bolt lock-out plates. Due to that reason of course, is why the quickest and fastest drag strip and handling S550's are already using our product.

Here is a shot of our test car early on, that had experienced toe slip with the OE Toe Links. This car was abused hard on Mickey Thompson Drag Radials, and never saw the track before experiencing it.

Here is a shot of the Lock Out plates that come standard with the BMR TR005 Toe Rods.

On that note, here is an example of an M6G member that recently contacted me about his alignment.

Notice the before driver side rear Toe, and the after.

His car was pulling before going in for an alignment, and you can see why.

Moral of the story, keep an eye on that rear toe! If you have issues, which generally occur from excessive wheel-hop and thrashing the car, it would be a great time to consider upgrading to the BMR-TR005 Toe Rods with lockout plates. At this time, I am fairly certain that we are the only company who offers this feature standard with our Adjustable Toe Rods. I am sure others who offer these parts will eventually catch-on, though.

*Also, people who use a stickier tire may experience this issue more than those without.

Happy Modding!

I recently installed them with viking shocks, what a difference it made. Much better launches, especially witha power adder.

Question, doesn't the Steeda kit have the lockouts to?

Not sure. I was under the impression they did not, but I could be wrong.

At the time I posted this, we were the only company that supplied them.

I predicted months ago that eventually everyone would, though.

I was only wondering that's all. Thanks for your top notch products. Looking forward to installing my CB005 that has been sitting on my garage bench.

Inquiries are always good and welcome!

Again, I am not sure what they are offering. They make great products, and I am sure if they do not offer them - that they will eventually.

We wouldn't have even considered making these pieces without providing the plates, and were shocked when others were releasing them without them.

The one in the initial video they did didn't have the the lockout, however I checked a few days ago and they've got the lockout now.

Yeah, I just looked and saw they offer them now. Awesome!

If you got theirs without the plates, I would definitely contact them to see if they can get some out to you.

what is the purpose of the "lock out" plates... is it to beef up that areas stability under stress?

They eliminate the eccentric bolts that the OEM uses on the inner mount of the toe links.

That bolt sees a lot of force when really beating on the car, especially when experiencing wheel-hop / or having a softer compound Drag Radial or Race Tire.

It is not uncommon to see the eccentric bolts slip out of their set position. It is a bolt that is located in a slot...with the outer washers holding the position. When enough force is applied to the toe rods, the washers can rotate slightly and cause a toe-in or toe-out condition. Once that occurs, the issue only gets worse from there as the tire is fighting the toe-link at that point.

I noticed another company release their toe links with these plates too. I am glad to see companies offering it - I HIGHLY recommend these kits if you are a performance enthusiast, regardless of what brand you buy....I just wanna see people with a secure toe-link. If that toe changes like the graph in the OP, it can cause some serious issues.
