I have a 2015 gt pp mt . I was getting on a major highway trying to get up the speed limit of 70 mph i went to shift from 3rd to 4 th and accidental down shifted into 2nd. I was going probably around 55+ when I did this. Anyways when I did this I heard the tires chirp and quickly realized what I did I tried to shift it back into 3 rd and into 4th. Now my car won't shift at all. I can't get the clutch to engage . It will not go into any gear at all now. I had it towed to the dealership where I bought and hopefully they can check it out Monday. Any ideas what it might be? :brokenheart:

Mechanical over rev. You'll be lucky to not have to replace the motor.

I can not think of a single reason why should not be able to engage gears withthe engine off... even with no clutch by rocking the car.

UNLESS there is a linkage issue.

It will start just fine . No oil leaks or no terrible sounds. I can get it to shift gears with the engine off just not with the engine running.

I guess that depends what "55+" means. If he was literally 55-60 mph, that would be right at redline in 2nd in a PP GT and maybe(?) not be too worrisome. On the other hand, if he was actually at the top of 3rd, then yeah big-time over-rev.

I say + 55 mph because I don't the actual speed when I shifted was watching the road I just know it was in that range when I looked . I have no doubt it was too fast for second. I just hope whatever broke is covered under warranty. Is there something out that help prevent down shifting into the wrong gear?

Depends on the temperature and traction. I've had a similar experience and the rear end just lifted and broke loose and it didn't even go over 3,500rpm before I was on the brakes enough.

Like others have said, I have no idea what would've broken.

If it starts and everything sounds fine I doubt that even if there was an overrev, there would be any damage to the motor. I'm not an expert but wouldn't you hear a valve bite a piston, and then hear a bent valve? Or the knock sensor would trip a CEL?

As for helping the shifts, I just put in the Steeda transmission bushing and it is way better, I've missed 4th quite a bit before I had it but now the gears don't move!

I wouldn't say the NVH is any worse at all. I'd venture to say you can feel the drive line a bit more through the shifter itself but that's it.

For $24 or whatever it was, it is awesome. Took a little effort to get it installed yesterday, but I've put about 100-200 miles on it since installing and it is great. I missed fourth a fair amount hitting the "dead zone" between 2nd and 4th, then id be left revving it in neutral; disappointing but not any more. It may not be a complete resolution for issues like this but the difference was worth it and very noticeable for myself.

I don't know how you even got it into 2nd at that speed. It must have made one hell of a noise going into gear.

What does the clutch feel? If you sheared off the facing it would allow you to shift but not engage. If you bent the fingers then the clutch pedal would be floppy.

If I were you I wouldn't be getting my hopes up in that regard. Why would Ford pay to fix your mistake? You bought a manual car and money shifted it. User error, case closed. You should have to pay for the repairs.

For it too break that easy though. :/ what a pos! I would thought they were built better than that. Had a 2005 gt loved it ran like a scalded dog. Didn't have any problems from it . I'll see what the dealer says tomorrow . It was tough decision to either buy a Camaro ss or a gt I went for gt cause it was loaded. I'm second guess myself now on getting the gt .

Pedal isn't floppy but it not very firm goes to the floor pretty easy.
