We used our basic "torque tune" for the before and after dyno test on the Airaid CAI for our 2015 Ecoboost Mustang.

Our torque tune was developed as a daily driver tune for those that want great acceleration and good overall power. This is not one of our higher hp tunes that we will be using with our OR pipe and other items. This tune is more along the lines of getting the torque to come on strong at the hit for seat of the pants feel. :headbang:

As you can see the max hp numbers didnt change much but tq max numbers did. The gains down low and pretty much everywhere else are substantial. More airflow=more tq everywhere. :clap2:

Where the cursor is at you can see a 13hp increase and a 15ftlb increase in tq. :headbang: Down low its even more impressive.

This is a quality CAI that is very well thought out. It performs great and looks great. We look forward to track testing this combination. :headbang:

Interesting how the torque seems to smooth out down low... is that an anomaly or do you think that's a result of the CAI?

I do believe thats the result of the CAI. The more air an engine can consume will allow that engine to make more tq and top that with a little turbo that is just dying for more air and you get the result.

I just got done test driving this car with the Airaid and our "Torque tune" and the difference is night and day. The car pulls so much harder up top where it used to fall flat and thats a direct result of more air getting to the turbo/motor. This car feels so much faster now something thats really hard to show on the dyno because you just cant flow that much air across the vehicle.

Track times coming soon!!!!

Can you please compare to other competitors.
We wish we could but at the moment there is nothing else on the market that is available.

If that changes you will find out from us for sure. :headbang:

Cool. I just feel you will see the same kind of gains with any other intake that allows the turbo to breathe easier. I come from the mazdaspeed platform which had a very, very similar power plant and on that platform SRI proved just as effective as CAI.

I agree but I also think Airaid has hit this one out of the park as far as giving the engine combination exactly what it is looking for airflow wise and temp wise. Everything else I have seen is underhood filters on the end of steel tubing thats been hacked and welded together. This composite material will not retain the heat like the others with tubing and the filter is enclosed so no under hood heat will be drawn in. :headbang:

For anyone interested in the Airaid just give us a call for great pricing as well as great tuning support!!!

Thanks,

JJ

TTT

And also wanted to add that all Airaid CAI's from us are on sale including the EB's true fresh/cold air CAI that has shown proven results.

For those that missed this thread earlier from November!!

Also notice the results are from run number 19 (stock CAI) to run number 20 (Airaid CAI). Truly back to back dyno testing.

I will be doing a track comparison of the JLT to the Airaid. Possibly this weekend.

Mike
Great; I saw JJ mention earlier that there wasn't anything out there to compare the Airaid to so bringing it back up for him to comment.

What is the plan for the comparison? Make a run, let the car cool down while switching intakes and then make another run? No changes to anything else right?

Now that that JLT/MMR intake is out any chance of comparisons?
Not sure how much difference there will be between the different intakes, they all seem to be competently designed. But I'm looking forward to mbreinin's test anyway.

Understand about being different but theoretically speaking their job is to supply air to the turbo so sooner or later a comparison is going to happen.
