I'm hoping to receive mine soon, which will time in well with my car arriving at the dealer hopefully late this week or early next.

I'll post up pics once I receive the brackets.

I'll soon have my Lakin plate kits front and rear including the modified Kingpin Prestige plate kits all done by Philip from Lakin. I will post photos of all the parts when I have them.
Ian.
Did you receive your Lakin brackets yet Ian?

My Pony has arrived, :D took delivery Thursday evening in the pouring rain, more details later, save to say I am loving it, and it was worth the wait. But for now I want to sort out the plate thing asap as we fitted it up with double sided tape and it is offset to one side so it sits on a flat section of the front bar.

The Sho & Sto is not for me, and as I have 372 x 84mm plates I am not a fan of the way the Craigs bracket is exposed below the plate.

I saw a plate bent to the shape of the V in the front bumper and really liked that, and your description of the Kingpin kit seems to fit exactly what I am looking for but I cant see a picture on the Lakin site of what this looks like.
I am happy to use the 2 dimples on the bar to screw the bracket on and was about to start playing with bits of sheet metal to make up a template to create a bracket milled out of a bit of 2-3mm aluminium plate myself but if he has already made something then I wont bother re-inventing the wheel.

Thanks

John

John look at jnr spook on sa mustang thread. I'm going to do the same as him. A kingpin bracket bent to the contour of the bumper. I've seen it in the flesh and it looks great.

Hi Snake Bite, thanks for the info, I put in an enquiry last night and Philip rang me late today and as soon as I mentioned the Yellow Mustang with SA custom plates he knew exactly what I wanted and I have a bracket underway. Luckily the plates I have are the same dimensions, so an easy one for him. He reckons I should have it in 2 weeks. I hope the double sided tape holds out until then........

Hi John,
I have just received the complete kit from Philip that includes the brackets and Kingpin covers. There is only one word for it. Brilliant!! I will put up piccies over the weekend on this thread.

Hi Ian,

That is good to hear. I bit the bullet and sent him an enquiry last Saturday and on Sunday he rang me. A really nice bloke we had a good chat about how he makes them up and I was sold. I have a machine shop at work and could have made something up, but not to the same standard he was talking about. Look forward to seeing what the kit looks like.

There seems to be a bit of a gathering brewing for Sunday for a few of us, if you get the pics up before Sunday morning I will print them out and take with me, I am sure there will be some interest for them.

John

Good to hear that and looking forward to the photos.

I've got a set on order as well. Philip was really good to talk with.

I forgot to ask how to put the slight bend in the front number plate!

Mine arrived today as well, I only bought the brackets and not the covers, so I might let Ian post up photos of the full set.

Philip has done very well with capturing the profile of both the front and rear bumper, even to the point of putting adhesive spots on the back of the rear plate to eliminate the chance of it rattling.

Yes, they are more expensive than a cheap bracket from Supercheap - but $100 for each bracket isn't much when you consider nicely 'finishing off' a $60+k car.

Hi Wil,
Did I tell you that I arranged for my dealer to send a set of factory number plate brackets surplus to their needs to Philip? I then rang Philip and told him they were coming and that they were his to keep. He was quite thrilled as they would allow him to make fine adjustments where necessary over and above the dimensions you sent him. It was a joint effort on our part. Pictures on the parts are coming.
Ian.

Does the bumper need to be drilled for the Lakin kit?
