This is what I am thinking about doing in the spring. I love the Roush axleback but want it a little louder. Was thinking of doing an x pipe and adding in 2 bullet style mufflers or resonators to tone down the rasp. Excited to hear what yours sounds like
Good to see others have this idea too.

After searching other forums and Google, I seems like adding these mufflers midstream certainly impact things in a good way. I certainly have my fingers crossed. I will know by next Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning:D

I added similar mufflers midstream to my old gsx and evo, and it worked great. Can't wait to hear yours so I can pull the trigger lol

I just bought these. 2.5" and will be delivered on Tuesday. Crossing my fingers that this gets rid of the rasp:D. Will get them welded in behind my h-pipe.

Please report back once you have them on. I have an MBRP Street that I would love to take some Rasp out of.

I installed the Dynomax Race Bullets on the Hpipe of my Race exhaust that I had to try and get rid of the drone and it didn't work. I still have that Hpipe so if this helps your rasp, I may throw that Hpipe on with the street exhaust.

Will do. Your drone issue would be fixed by the Jpipes mentioned above.

I just got these Pype M80's installed this morning. It removed at least 90% of my rasp. It also reduced the volume by 50%.

The tone is much deeper now. I am happy the rasp is gone but a little sad I lost so much volume but the sound is really nice. I will need to get my wife to drive my car so I can hear how it sounds now.

I'll post up some videos later today and tomorrow morning (cold startup in the garage) to compare both setups.

Awesome to hear it got rid of most of the rasp! Would you say the volume is still louder than the axlebacks alone? Can't wait to hear the sound clips, but I am pretty sure I'll go this route in the spring.

That's encouraging news. I am going to be swapping my H-Pipe with another that has inline mufflers today. I'll report back on if the Dynomax removed the Rasp from my MBRP Street. Crossing fingers.

I'm surprised you lost that much volume. I installed the 3" Pypes M80's in my longtube-equipped Coyote and they maybe cut 10% volume. They definitely did the trick for rasp though.

Here are 3 clips. All clips are done in my garage with one garage door open and my drivers side door open.

The first one is the x-pipe with Roush AB upon cold start up:

x-pipe with Roush AB revving:

Lethal h-pipe with Roush AB and Pypes M80's installed right behind the H in the h-pipe:

huge difference in tone, volume and raspiness.

Cool! looking forward to it.

It is really a big difference inside the car vs. the old setup. I was totally surprised. Maybe these mufflers need to be broken in a bit and it might get more volume in the next month or so.

This could be an interesting setup that gets the volume where I want it. I wonder how it rates to H-pipe & Stock Mufflers?

i love the exotic rasp! can't believe you changed it :p

I guess adding in those pypes acted like a resonator of sorts. definitely quieter.

Hmmmmm...good question. I think it is still a louder setup with the h-pipe and stock mufflers. It still had some good volume from 5k and up in the rev range.

It was just sooooo extreme to me and was loud anytime I got on the car. I really want to hear the GT350 in person with the exhaust open and see how it compared with tone and rasp.

Honestly...I am still not sure if this will be my final exhaust setup. This will tide me over for a long time. Still debating to do long tubes with this setup or something else.

I am having the hardest time trying to find the perfect sound with these 5.0's. My 03 Cobra, it was the Borla Stinger, no question (in my opinion, of course).

My biggest problem is I haven't been out to a lot of gatherings with a ton of cars to hear the range of noises all these setups can make.
