To pass the many months until the car finally arrives, what is your best guess as to how the RHD wiil be configured under the bonnet.
I have looked at length at the current setup and it appears there is an easy way and a hard way...I hope Ford don't take the easy way.

The main issue is swapping the battery and the brake/clutch/ABS setup, side to side. If they do that, then the wiring from the battery and starter will have to be extended and rerouted, as the intake and relay/fuse box aren't really swapable. That would also mean that the sound tube would need to be moved or deleted. (It's ugly anyway). There would also need changes to the plastics over the cowl panel and wiper motor. Then there's the aircond and how it enters the cabin.
The steering column swap has to be done not matter what...so it should have no great bearing on the pedals and battery...
Thats the hard way.....
The easy way is just running rods under the dash from side to side to allow the left hand brake/clutch setup to be operated from the right and everything else to stay the same...it would give reduced feel to the pedals and more points for slop and freeplay to develop...
It will be interesting to see how the local conversion and the factory conversion differ....
Any other suggestions as to how the RHD will be?

Christ! I hope it's not the second way. I'll be wishing that I had imported a US one or even used the money to buy a 60s classic.

Thanks WILDB....where did you find that pic ?
I thought I had searched everywhere....they have done a nice job, very neat....no complaints there....although that ugly sound tube is still present...it is one thing that could have been left off.

It was in a post on Jalopnik a while back when they were driving the RHD silver GT convertible.

Phew!! That's a relief!

Thanks for the photo.

I'm just wondering if the routing of the battery cable would affect the fitment of the strut tower brace?

We can only wait and see, I hope it doesn't, because it's just a mirror of the other side.

dos anyone know why we don't get the brace from strut to strut across the engine on the Aussi model?

Perhaps due to pedestrian safety. By not having it the bonnet will crumple/crush should they land on it.

There is no reason whatsoever! Loads of 'sports' cars come with these. I'll be adding if it's not included in the UK spec.

My HSV Clubsport R8 has a Strut Tower Brace.
I read on one of the Australian Motoring web sites that the Australian Mustang comes with a Strut Tower Brace.
I think they may be confusing it with the under Bonnet K Brace.
The K Brace ties/supports the Strut Towers back to the Firewall.
Last Wednesday I was shown an Offical Memo to the Australian Ford Dealers and it listed the Specifications for the Australian Mustang.
For the 5.0 GT it had the K Brace listed, but not the Strut Tower Brace.
I will certainly be getting the Strut Tower Brace. Either the genuine Ford one or one of the many 'After Market' ones that are available, (see CJ Pony Parts).
