To pass the many months until the car finally arrives, what is your best guess as to how the RHD wiil be configured under the bonnet.
I have looked at length at the current setup and it appears there is an easy way and a hard way...I hope Ford don't take the easy way.
The main issue is swapping the battery and the brake/clutch/ABS setup, side to side. If they do that, then the wiring from the battery and starter will have to be extended and rerouted, as the intake and relay/fuse box aren't really swapable. That would also mean that the sound tube would need to be moved or deleted. (It's ugly anyway). There would also need changes to the plastics over the cowl panel and wiper motor. Then there's the aircond and how it enters the cabin.
The steering column swap has to be done not matter what...so it should have no great bearing on the pedals and battery...
Thats the hard way.....
The easy way is just running rods under the dash from side to side to allow the left hand brake/clutch setup to be operated from the right and everything else to stay the same...it would give reduced feel to the pedals and more points for slop and freeplay to develop...
It will be interesting to see how the local conversion and the factory conversion differ....
Any other suggestions as to how the RHD will be?
