So I've put all my favourite music on a USB stick by simply copying the files from my 'music' folder (apple mac) which means they're all ordered correctly by Artiste and each album in it's on folder and the track numbers at the start of each song.

Sync 2 seems to recognise this and, when browsing, has everything in order. However, when I play an album, it will start with the first track (if selected) but it might show it for example as 15/16 so after playing the next track, it just stops, like it's reached the end of the album.

It's as though Sync is reordering the tracks according to some unknown factor once the music starts playing.

Anyone know of any way of changing this?

Mine had trouble reading from a large capacity USB stick (64GB), skipping tracks and some not listed at all. You might want to try a different USB stick to see if it makes any difference.

If you have bought it via iTunes - it might not play them due to copywriter protection

had the same issue in my bimmer when I copied all my iTunes library to the hard drive

I had a very similar issue, do not select music from the play files option, select browse music instead. Bizzare I know.
Also I had major issues with anything larger than 32gb, kept indexing all the time & voice controls for music wouldn't work. Switched down to a 32gb fixed it.

Tried re-indexing and also turned off grace note management, something has worked! Only problem I have now is with 2 disc compilations where again, no logic as to A) which track is up first, and B) subsequent order. I'll try putting each disc in its own folder, that should do the trick

try using the voice control to "Play Album [name]" This works for me - and originally when I use the screen search to select the first track on the album it would play only that track

I had more luck putting all my music and pictures files on an SD card. I also prefer the SD slot as its less likely to get whacked and broken than something sticking out the USB ports...

Problem is that if you have the Satnav it uses the SD card slot for the map info I think

That's correct. But for the music, I copied all of my files onto a USB stick (used a small format one) and it seems to me that it doesn't use the "folder" structure that I used for each artist / album, but the actual tags embedded into the files.

I haven't used this feature before (and I mainly listen to the radio at the moment) but I do like the voice control feature; it seems to work well for me. I have some long overseas trips planned in the summer and will use it more then...

I leave an iPod permanently plugged in in the centre console. Works well.
