  1. Do I Need an Oil Catch Can

A stock street car doesn't require a catch can, but can use one. I have a JLT oil separator on the passenger side of my '17 PP GT and it pulls about 3 oz. of liquid per oil change. That's not a lot, but that's oil I would rather not have going into the induction tract of the engine. If you have...
  2. Winter Storage Battery Question

+1 on the battery maintainer. I use one on my intermittently driven 2017 and it still on the factory battery.
  3. Poll: Where do you get your oil changed?

Major disincentive to doing it myself for is proper disposal of the used oil.
  4. Floor Jack Clearance Issue

Is there a reason not to use the factory-specified jacking points?
  5. Question on trading in a FI mustang

I do not care for the S650, so if something happens to my current car I will be looking for a used Mustang, but not a heavily modified one. I prefer that the changes from the base car be designed by Ford engineers in Dearborn and not a previous owner. I have no way of knowing if the previous...
  6. 🏁 Official: 2025 Mustang GTD Revealed! 800+ HP, Pushrod Suspension, $300K MSRP

These cars are made to burnish a brand and have no real connection to any production cars. Will cost the earth and Ford will lose money on each one of the few they make and sell.
  7. Wheel lug torque

The manual also contains a reminder to retorque lug nuts within 100 miles.
  8. Anyone read this ridiculous article?

If I had wanted a Camaro, I would have bought one.
  9. Tire recommendations

In an all-season tire I think the MIchelin Pilot Sport AS 4 is a good choice.
  10. Passenger rear window doesn’t close fully (cabrio).

Keep the quarter windows very clean and raise them first. You can also try unfastening the top latch after raising the top, and then latching it again after raising the quarter windows. If they still do not raise all the way, may have to have them adjusted.
  11. Considering removing all factory mach1 stickers.

Good think there are apparently no mounting holes under the fender logos. Car looks good de-badged and de-striped.
  12. Would you guys trade in your current mustang for the 2024 dark horse

No. I am very disappointed in both the exterior and interior look of the S650. The outside may grow on me, but the awkwardly placed screens in the interior are an irredeemable disaster.
  13. Mustang love / hate

For better or worse, cars are mass-produced consumer goods engineered to sell at a price point. That includes Fords, BMWs, Mercedes, and for that matter Porsches and Ferraris too. If they had to be virtually free of failure, they would be like aircraft and cost orders of magnitude more to buy...
  14. Buying new car cash: Dealer wants a credit check/financing application?

Sometimes you can get a better deal by financing, then refinancing or paying off the loan at once. Just make sure there are no prepayment penalties in the deal.
  15. Confused about aftermarket lug nuts

For what it's worth, the only time prior to today that the lugs were removed on my car was for a tire installation at the dealer. I don't know if they used an impact gun or not. I use only hand tools (socket, breaker bar, and torque wrench) for lug nut work. The 61148FS Gorilla nuts that I...
  16. Confused about aftermarket lug nuts

Swapping OEM lug nuts for a set of Gorilla factory style (61148FS) today and glad I am doing it. Even though my '17 is relatively low mileage (~18,000 mi.) and garage kept, half the OEM lug nuts will not fully seat in the socket, and had to go oversize to get one off at all. Once one of the OEM...
  17. What would prevent you from buying the S650?

The major no-buy issue for me is that I consider the S650 to be a major failure of design. The exterior looks like elements thrown together from other cars for no good reason and the result is utterly undistinguished. Unbelievably, the interior is even worse. There is no reason to abandon the...
  18. Next Car?

It won't be an S650. I find the exterior styling uninspired, derivative of other cars, and lacking traditional Mustang styling cues except maybe the triple bar taillights. The screen-dominated interior is even worse. If I have to replace my current car, either a low-mileage S550 if I can find...
  19. TPMS reading high

The TPMS sensor readings do not seem to update in real time. The ones on my car also consistently read 2 PSI higher than my tire gauge.
  20. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

My rates with American Family have been stable for some time. I'm not sure if they write insurance in all states, though. I avoid GEICO because I was hit by one of their insured a while back and they were absolute pricks to deal with, did not want to pay out and nickel-and-dimed everything on...
