The wheels fitted with Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme S 255/40 100Y R19 M+S tyres and TPMS, and are inflated.
All the tyres have a depth of at least 5mm. These wheels have been used for the last five winters, and three of them show some nicks and surface abrasions. There are no gouges or cracks...
Personal experience; Chepstow Ford (branch of Monmotors).
Did not buy from them, only used them as local to me, quite happy to validate Ford Protect Service Plan.
Excellent service and treat me as a valued customer, not an irritation.
Presumably same item in a 275 width would do it?
Check the speed rating first; this can sometimes vary between different sizes of the same tyre.
Reasons for my choice (unscientific): 1). If its OK for Audi, its probably OK for me. 2). Germany has weather rather more similar to the UK than...
Pirelli P Zero
255/40 R19 Y (100)
AO (Audi fitment)
They have a different tactile feel (?different silica content) to the original; the only visual difference is a yellow spot on the sidewall, easily disguised with a black Sharpie. Used two to replace originals after side-wall bulges. No...
Have a look at:
www.ford.co.uk/owner/service-and-maintenance/service-repair/plans
before buying Evans Halshaw plan.
More flexible (and my plan was better price than Trustford's plan - even 'though the same company.)
Redeemable at any Ford agent.
The OP may be referring to Waxoyl, rather than paint protection.
Having a 2 1/2 year old car myself, and using the car over-winter, I wonder if the modern undersurfaces are truly resistant to salt or whether, conversely, a hardening type of underseal would actually trap moisture under it...
Fit them.
Drive 100 miles.
Don't panic at all the warnings on the panel.
Check manual (? page 186).
Reset tyre monitoring system.
Might have to repeat a couple of times.
It seems to be an automatic system, but not straight away.
Message to Docscurlock,
I understand that you you want to give a balanced, dispassionate response to this thread but there is too much emotion and fixed opinion for there to be any winners.
Just let the OP have his say, as his right in a democratic society; know in your heart that you do your...
Mine "auto-re sensed" after 2 days and 60 miles on new sensors; most of them will.
I was just about to give up waiting and either buy a rather overpriced tool to reset,or try the deflate tyre and reset monitor technique (I hate false information from warning lights with a deep and meaningful...
For us humble egoboosters in a cold but not arctic winter:

Just stick a set of Eurolite (AA/Halfords/Amazon) beam blockers on the headlight outers for a short european trip; there is even a small circle/dimple on the inner aspect to aid positioning correctly. Mustang setup given in instructions. Does not affect main beam.
Currently on short holiday in...
Sort of right; only the V8 available, but knew would never take V8 to full potential (OAP). Not a driving god any more.
Undecided re: auto/manual (duff ankle) prior to test - actively didn't like auto box wanting to take control (v.personal view).
Previous RHD experiences over time include a...
