Cool story! I was a previous Corvette owner, and I can tell you that both my GT350 and now my R get more attention than my Corvette ever did.
And no offense to anyone, but I would pass up a GT350 all day every day for a Ferrari Scuderia. To me, it's just one of the most perfect...
Jesus it's a dream of mine to take my R on Leguna Seca, nice footage!! I can only imagine what it's like taking the corkscrew from behind the wheel of a GT350/GT350R!
The fact that these two cars can be mentioned in the same context is quite amazing, don't you think? The GT350R is amazing for the price. Any reasonable person would/should expect the Porsche to be better for the extra amount you have to shell out as far as I'm concerned.
I've owned 911's...
Indeed you can. I asked a dealer about the potential of ordering one, and he advised that they would require a hefty non-refundalbe deposit to order a color like this. I totally understand that also, it's a love/hate color for most. But very intriguing.
The only car I'd ever want in Orange...
I'm not sure we're looking at the same thing. I'm looking at the photographs posted in the OP's 1st post, and all of the MSRP's are in the $68K-$69K range and they all look like R's to me. They clearly state GT350R also. Unless I'm missing something here?
I've noticed the same thing and really wasn't even trying to pay attention to color.. it just seems like there's a lot of them out there. I've had a few dealers tell me that they have info that "everyone wants black or grey". I've owned black in the past and it certainly is a high maintenance...
i respect this, but I never say never. I felt that way about a few cars previously, but as time passes I've learned that I'll probably never keep a modern car forever (but it may take 10-15 years for me to move it). I've been star struck in the past (brand new Z06, brand new M3 to name a few...
I'm not sure who has more balls, the guy renting out his GT350 on the internet or the guy that told a dealer that he wanted MSRP after they offered him $2K over (when many are paying $10K over).
You're still one of my Hero's Enzo. :D
I was thinking of driving my R to one of the dealers that has a $30K ADM on their R and seeing what they'll give me for a trade towards a Raptor. I think it would be comical to see them offer me $55K for mine with 300 miles on it while they want $100K for theirs.
Renting a GT350 out on Turo is just a horrible idea, and here's why:
1. Clutch. You have no control over what anyone is doing to it. Riding it, dumping it, grinding the gears, etc. This will not be covered under warranty.
2. Line Lock. Get ready for people who always wanted to do it...
Lots of deals out there right now, or at least, "more than usual". All appear to be in texas. One was posted this morning, black/black, $5K over. Another was sold (I talked to the salesman personally) near houston for UNDER MSRP. Another was listed and sold for $5K over. This was all within...
Do people really have time to watch a 45 minute video of a dude washing his car? I'm not sure who has time for this? I scanned his channel and he has some good info, but perhaps he should start a channel for those that are busy (like him) called Obsessed Garage: Cliff notes version. :D
