That was one of the more miserable days that I've had at the track recently..lol. Car ran fine, but it was a bit much for us humans. I can say it helped test the ability of the Levels IC to dissipate charge heat....passed with flying colors. Tomorrow night should be awesome...hopefully it's not...
My 1.66 short time came on 19 psi in the drag radials. I'm going to sneak it back up a few pounds and see if it helps a bit. I tried running them down to 17-18 at the track rental in November, and they were't happy..lol. 285/40-18 on a 10" rim, so not a lot of sidewall give to absorb the shock...
Sounds good. Adam has data logs, so we will see what he does. Just hope the weather cooperates...40% chance of rain in the forecast during the afternoon, then clear at night.
Ok....I'll have a place to stash my street tires/wheels and not worry about them walking off..lol. If the track is halfway decent, I'm hoping it will hold the 7-8# launch I used yesterday for my 7.88 pass (1/8 mile at Green Cove Springs)...had a 1.66 short time on stock suspension. She just...
I'm damn sure going to try and make it. I'm hoping I can get a few more logs to Adam for some revision work and iron out a few kinks he noticed in the logs from yesterday. I may just leave the DRs at home and see how the street tires work. They held a 1.87 60 at the track rental, so they aren't...
Try to plan on being there the 18th for TnT....lol. If I can't make it Wednesday night, that will be my next chance at making it to the track. I sent Adam some logs from earlier, so we will see what the mad man comes up with. Ran some 7.80's @ 88 at Green Cove today, so it's showing a little...
Yep, you did a good job not getting anxious and jumping the gun. It takes practice to get a manual trans car to run good times on street tires. The summer tires will hook somewhat, just can't hit them with a hard launch.
If the weather holds out, may be at OSW with my car Wednesday night...
I swapped over to my DRs after the first pass. 12.87 @ 107 on my street tires, leaving at maybe 1-2 psi. It did lay down a 1.87 60ft on them though. After that 13.1 @ 108 first pass on the Nittos, I settled it down a bit. Ended up with a 12.78 @ 107.8 best pass, which happened during the...
I may try to make the 25th event....have to work the weekend of the 28th. Maybe by then I will have the Access Port/Adam tune and can really lay some numbers down.
Nice pics and vids. Of course the one run was my slowest of the day. I tried to launch at 7-8# of boost, and the drag radials said no thanks...lol. Once I tightened the loose nut behind the steering wheel, it got better.
LOL.....and now the addiction begins <cue evil laugh>. Nice meeting all you guys and thanks very much for coming out. It was a great time, just a bit on the warm side..lol. It was nice seeing Justin wheel the VMP car to the good pass he made. That big turbo has me thinking bad thoughts...lol.
I would say bring what you can. I was going to bring mine, but zero space left in the car since I decided to drive down on my street tires. Damn 18" DRs take up a bunch of space..lol.
Yep...be happy to share mine as well. I'm in town already, and poor car looks like a delivery truck with all the stuff packed inside..lol. I decided to drive down on my street tires, loaded the DRs in the car...along with jack, impact wrench, extra set of 17" rims (picking up some NT05 DRs from...
You know I'll be there. Taking a chance on cruising down on my DRs, so coming down Friday and staying in a hotel. BTW...any of you guys want to pick up some burgers, side dishes, etc, please do.
