I don't have Lund yet but from what you are describing the higher idle on cold engine is normal operation for any bigger engine. My X6 4.4 TTV8 does the same and it lowers after a few seconds, below 1000 rpm. The GT350 does the same but after roughly 30-40 seconds. It's a quick warmup procedure...
