  1. Mustang Photograph of the Month Contest – August 2024

2019 Ford Mustang GT/CS at the Eveready Diner, Hyde Park, New York.
  2. How Often Do You Wash Your Car?

My color is Ingot Silver which is a bright silver. No, I haven't seen evidence of even tiny scratches. Ford has been using a very hard clear coat for a while, that may help. Also, I don't drag the duster across the surface. I very lightly skim the Duster across the paint. Also, the car is...
  3. How Often Do You Wash Your Car?

I just washed my 2019 for the second time in 5 years. Garaged with 10k miles, no rain. California Duster and Meguiar Detailer are normally used every 3 weeks during the Summer.
  4. Surprising highway fuel mileage

With my 2002 GT, on the highway, I would get 28.1 mpg. The 2019 GT gets 27.9 mpg. Both auto. Nominally the same mpg despite 50% increase in power.
  5. Leak from rear view mirror

If some rain sensors leak and some do not, then a leaking sensor can't be considered "normal". There has to be a reason that some leak. I'm saying that going into my 3rd replacement.
  6. Leak from rear view mirror

Yes, my 2019 GT/CS is on its 3rd rain sensor. It only starts leaking when in the garage over the Winter but then continus in warmer weather. Cold temperatures start it.
  7. Finally gave up on the $hit Motorcraft battery

I went with the Car Quest AGM. I've had incredible service out of their batteries.
  8. overly sensitive brakes 2021 GT

On my 2019 GT, I would describe the brakes as more powerful, perhaps overboosted? compared to an average vehicle. The brakes are very linear so it's a matter of getting used to them, in my opinion. However, if the braking effect is not linear, then there could be a problem.
  9. If you live in a state that requires front license plate, do you rock one?

I think it looks better. The factory bracket breaks up the "fish mouth" look. That and I never worry about being pulled over. In NY, that is a thing.
  10. Senior S550 Owners Like Black Wheels?

Well, it was time to rotate the tires, so I took the time to wash, compound, and Mirror Glaze wax the back of the GT/CS wheels. NOW they look awesome!
  11. Is there an oil filter (canned or cartridge) shelf life?

No scientific data but I have bought several of the NOS Purolator sealed canister (bypass) oil filters that are used on many 1930- 1960 American engines. I've never had any problem or reason to question these many decades old filters. As long as they're closed with cellophane or such to keep the...
  12. All S550 model years of 5.0 Coyote: How many have NOT had any Coyote issues?

2019 GT/CS. 5900 miles. Engine is VERY quiet, uses no oil in 2000 miles. Motorcraft 5w-20 semi syn and Motorcraft filter. Runs superbly. 28 mpg highway. Extremely satisfied.
  13. Convertble jacking rails

Same exact problem that I had. I also believe the variance is more likely in the rail manufacture. I still have them sitting in my garage soon to go on Marketplace, I gave up on grinding. I'm going to order the JM, which I think is a better design, anyway.
  14. First Oil Change

Yes, when I had the OE fill tested I specifically asked for the weight verification. It was 5w-20 on my 2019.
  15. Something leaking from the forward facing camera box

The gel pack is part of the Windshield rain sensor. My unit started to leak after the weather got quite cold in late October the 2nd year I had the car. My car is garaged most of its life. Not exposed to much heat.
  16. 2017 GT - Musty Smell in Cabin caused by Hood Insulation Design

So, a question. Would it be a good idea to cut the insulation away from the heat extractors (where the water gets in) and then seal the edge of the insulation with silicone?
  17. Leak!! Area behind passenger flooded with water

I'm in, too, in case there are new developments.
  18. What's so Special about a California???????

Hmm, for some reason that thread doesn't seem to be there..
  19. GT Ride Comfort

Another vote for Continental DWS06 tires. If you can go to a higher profile tire, that helps also. Tires are your primary shock absorbers.
