It's not, but it is do-able. If you have the stock air filter box, I found that unbolting it and pivoting it out of the way helped a ton. It gives you a lot more room, and I found it easier to get to the intake manifold connector by going under the intake manifold from the front, instead of the...
That's exactly what I did. UPR dual-valve CC and CFM oil cap breather; for a couple of reasons.
-- Mishimoto tested CCs on both PCV and CCV sides. Their research showed oil captured from PCV side, but CCV can was dry, so they don't even offer a CCV can.
-- UPR dual-valve CC has a 2nd vacuum...
6400 miles is not normal. I think the OP has an uphill battle because it sounds like that dealer is looking for any excuse to not cover it under warranty, but it sounds like the clutch disk is defective, and if it is, a decent dealer could, and should, replace it under warranty.
Are you saying you can't drive it in default mode even with the stock tune? And you've shown that issue to the dealer and they're not doing anything about it? Definitely find a different dealer.
Did the problems start after a new tank of gas? As you said, you might have bad gas, or lower...
From what I've been able to find out, the torture test was done on a 2011 Ford F-150 with a 3.7L V6 engine which doesn't seem to be DI, but is sequential multiport. I also watched a teardown video of the engine, and the cylinder head only shows a sparkplug in the head, no fuel injector...
Just to be clear; you mean remove the aftermarket tune from the car. The first time I read this I thought your were saying remove the aftermarket tune which goes back into the tuner [from the tuner]. Just want to be clear for the OP. If he paid for the tunes from Bama and Unleashed, he should be...
Here's a link a post showing how to use an inexpensive gap adjusting tool to easily adjust the gap; http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=685650&postcount=113 No need to tap the plug on anything. Also, if you go the first post of that thread...
If you have the dual-valve catch can, check the direction of air flow in each of the hoses that have check valves. One of my hoses had the check valve installed backwards. It was no big deal, I just swapped the connectors on the ends of the hose. I'm sure UPR has tightened up their quality...
If your buddy is just using the ebay C as-is, he is not getting the protection he thinks he is. At a minimum, you need a baffled and filtered CC. Without baffling, the oil, water, and fuel vapors that enter the CC are free to turn right around and exit the CC. Baffling and filtering slow the...
Thanks Torrie. Good to know that you have used it extensively without issues. Do you use a conservative WM tune then, so that if there is a failure with the WM system, the ECU can prevent engine damage by subtracting timing and fuel? If the WM system had a failsafe, could you use a more...
Why would you want to run a cooler plug? Unless you have increased the hp of your engine by 75-100 hp, running a cooler plug will give you absolutely no benefit over stock heat range, and could actually be worse, in that using a cooler plug than necessary increases the chance of the plug carbon...
Torrie, you say that WM is safe for everyday use, and that's true if everything is working properly. But what keeps the engine from going boom if you're tuned for the WM and, for some reason - nozzle clog, pump failure, etc - it stops spraying when you are at WOT? I mean, if you have fuel pump...
Good. Hopefully they can put pressure on the dealer, although it would still scare the crap out of me to let that dealer fix the car. It sounds like you and your father are doing all the right things. Edkiefer had some good advice on what tests to run, although they should already have been...
Rarely have a read a story of a dealer's service department as incompetent or negligent as this. Even if the service department finally acknowledges that there is a problem, I would not trust them to fix it. As someone else said, take lots of pictures, document everything, and above all, find...
While I agree that a lot of people change their oil too frequently, I don't necessarily believe everything in the manual is what the Ford engineers believe either. Car manufacturers want to sell cars. If they think they can sell more cars by stretching maintenance intervals to make people...
Just after reading through here, saw this thread; DIY Trunk closer
Hah! Probably should have read through that other thread all the way. There's already been some cross-posting between here and there.
A few things I've found very useful changing oil:
-- rags - changing oil is never neat. You will need to wipe up the occasional oil drips and minor spills and clean your hands
-- oil changing drip pan such as this...
