  1. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

I did some reading and it seems lots of people are running between 7500 And 7850 rev limits without issues. 350 IM/TB making peak power at 7400 with 60 whp gains up top and 25hp overall. 2K is a lot for a small amount of overall gain but if it totally changes the way the engine makes its power...
  2. 2010 owners feelings when 2011 came out repeat?

I am not a ford or mustang guy. I did something I don't usually do and bought a '17 based solely on the looks. I figured the performance was around the mark and can do some things to improve that. Very difficult to fix the looks of the '18, and that sealed the deal for me.
  3. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Makes sense, I guess I'll just have to live with the raspy exhaust note!
  4. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Is the 350 IM/TB still a worthwhile upgrade without the exhaust mods to match? I will probably do axle backs for sound but cannot see myself forking out for the whole 9 yards. Peaky engines are my thing however so the IM is high on the list of priorities.
  5. BMR - Any Aussie installs yet?

What are you suspecting to be the cause of the rear end bounce? Did you click the bushes after lowering? Interesting about the Steeda diff bushes and the NVH, they and lots of others claim no increase. Exaggetory marketing I see. Did you notice any performance improvements with them in? I'm...
  6. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

On that topic, I see other threads in which people are fitting GT350 intake manifolds and revving the engine to 8 grand. Surely that is a motor on borrowed time?
  7. Money2536's Intake, Long-Tube Headers, Exhaust, & Tune Case Study

Enjoyed this little series on the GT350. Keep it up, I hope that's not the end of videos on this car given that it's now basically "done", right?
  8. Next suspension mod? Vertical links.

Does the ford racing track package come with upgraded toe knuckle bearings?
  9. Amount of fluid needed for brake flush ?

Would also like to know this.
  10. 0w40?

Interesting topic. I have always used 5w40 in my track cars but have never tracked a new/modern car regularly enough to consider that a lower weight oil might be called for. I'm here for the popcorn.
  11. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Thanks for the info. I haven't yet taken delivery of my car but are you saying it only gives CHT reading and not actual oil temp? I would assume CHT is the higher reading under normal conditions? Ford specifies a 5w30 for us in Australia as we don't get frosty winters like you folk in NA.
  12. Has anyone tried this badge alternative?

Looks great, is it fully reversible?
  13. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Great feedback. How did the car feel on the FR track suspension? I had assumed that the stop the hop stuff would still be needed and might still do it as a matter of stiffening up the rear but good to know nonetheless. Any idea how much camber you were running? Where did the front tire bubble...
  14. Dedicated track tire for 18x10 recommendations

The 305/35 is difficult to get in Australia. I agree, the NT01 are excellent value for money. Not the fastest out there and the sidewalls do roll over a bit but if you keep the pressures in spec it's all good. I had a set on my GT3 and just could not wear them out. My alignment will have to be a...
  15. Changing grill pony color

How does one mask off the pony emblem when plastidipping? Seems like avoiding overspray would be an impossible task.
  16. Has anyone tried this badge alternative?

    What grille is that? Cervini's?
  17. Black 2016 PP wheels

That is not jacked. Any decent painshop should be able to repair that for less than $150.
  18. Dedicated track tire for 18x10 recommendations

Yokohamas are 1.5-2 seconds per lap quicker than the R888 so worth the money if going as fast as possible is your goal. I may settle on the NT01 as they do a 275/40/18. This sizing should work well as a square set up?
  19. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Awesome, I am a bit of a numbers person so that info will be invaluable to my peace of mind at the track. Thank you! Can't wait to get this car on the track, somewhere in the two weeks between buying the car and waiting for it to arrive I have gone from thinking I wouldn't track it at all to...
  20. Taking the S550 GT to the race track

Mine is a late 2016 build. What are the additional diff and trans cooling upgrades on the 2016? Either way that's nice to know. I rarely do 20 minute plus sessions given the format of the events I compete in.
